milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Loki silhouette)
You guys, I am so excited Pony!Loki has his diadem!
First I sculpted the details:
Pony!Loki helmet sculpt progress

Then I got the horns attached (which was tricky!).
Pony!Loki helmet sculpt after attaching horns

I actually modelled the diadem on my design for my own cosplay diadem- just a lot smaller! Also the shape is a bit different because some of the side details wouldn't work on the pony version. The helmet is currently cooling, I just pulled it out of the oven. Of course I baked it off separate from the Pony!Loki himself, because I never intended the armour to be permantely attached- and as such have already done much of the painting. Now I just hope nothing got moved during baking so it still fits properly!
tumblr_m6wxwuMcXV1rt0zat
Loki needs to be fabulous of course.

I've finally gotten all of my ponies up on dA except for Pony!Loki, tomorrow hopefully I can get Loki on there too, and just keep my dA up to date. It would be so much easier to upload them in real time, I'm trying to be better about keeping that updated.

Also, so much tv tonight! There were more Voice blinds, which I listened to while I was sculpting. I really like the Voice especially to have one while I'm doing crafts. It's even less necessary to look at the tv! lol

We also watched the season premiere of Rizzoli and Isles and Perception.
For Rizzoli and Isles, I've never been afraid of clowns, but the clown on this episode was pretty creepy. Does anyone actually like clowns? I don't remember really liking them as a kid, though at least I didn't find them scary.
I was REALLY REALLY excited for the next season of Perception, and I was so happy that it was renewed for a second season. I <3 Daniel so much. x3 I also find him so relatable.
I thought the model trains were especially interesting though since Scottie has actually been talking about wanting to get into model trains.

SO MUCH TV STARTING BACK UP THOUGH OMG. lol
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel Loki kneel before him)
Tonight I did a bit of painting on Pony!Loki, but just some minor stuffs. The main part of my night was spent getting the base of his helmet, or more accurately, his diadem planned out and started. It needs detail sculpting, and finishing, and the horns actually attached, but I am really happy with how it's coming along. :D
Pony!Loki's armour continued
I approve of all the gold...
loki costume shift

Also watched season premiere of The Voice tonight! Nobody has exactly grabbed me tonight, but there were some good voices. I thought that the girl who sang Wrecking Ball actually did a really good job.

I am so sleepy! Have a sleepy Chaos sleeping in Scottie's arms. xD Ferrets are funny sleepers. He rolls over like that to show his belly usually when he's getting overly warm.
Sleepy Chaos

Pony!Loki paint continued

Just a quick post, I did some paint on Pony!Loki tonight. Some shading n stuffs. :3 Still not done but I'm happy with how things are coming. I'm going for kind of the shadowed look he had when he arrived on the scene in the Avengers.
loki has been here 30 seconds

Scottie also got the tablet set up on my computer, and I drew a bit of comic on it! I've always had something of a disconnect drawing on the tablet vs just a sketchpad, and I got over that! So that's pretty cool.

I still need to post about Fur Rondy, but that's going to have to wait as it's too late to get into that!

We watched Helix tonight, I thought it was actually a really interesting episode! People still make silly decisions, but I felt more drawn into the show on this episode tonight. I think that's a good thing! Is it weird that I want Dr. Hatake's watch? *koff*

Also, in the background today we had 2 Fast 2 Furious, then Tokyo Drift on the tv. Right now Joy Ride is on, and I haven't seen that movie in SO LONG. Paul Walker is just a bb there, it's hard to believe he's not here anymore.
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Loki throwing up horns)
So I finally watched Captain America! I have had the movie since Scottie got me the special Avengers box set for our anniversary this last November, and I really wanted to get all the movies watched that I've missed. That's one of the reasons that I wanted the box originally! I have this erm... tendency though to either put in the Avengers or Thor though for the 1000000000th time though when I go to grab a movie out of that box. No idea why. *koff*
ALL THE LOKIS
What was I doing again?

But I really did want to watch Cap's origin story, he's the only one I haven't seen yet! Plus ya'know if I do want to see the Winter Soldier in the theater, I'll want to have watched the first movie.

So here's how I felt after watching the movie:
cap right in the feels
The poor bb. T_T

Something neat I saw, Jenna Coleman (Clara on Dr Who) had a small part! Scottie was reading in the bedroom (he'd seen the movie before, and had a headache and so wanted to lie down) and he heard my fangirl squee when she came on. xD
I also thought it was awesome that they had Hugo Weaving as Red Skull. I told Scottie that I was excited that they had Agent Elrond, because I'm a dork.

More specific things under a spoiler cut:

I had to squee at seeing the tesseract, the Yggdrasil mural where it was hidden, and also at the end where they showed Asgard space. xD

The part where little Steve threw himself on the grenade at training camp? Aw, the bb. I think that's a good scene to show his character.

I had to laugh at "Do you two... fondue?" xD I was talking to that scene to Scottie after regarding the different Starks, but he didn't quite remember the reference. He was like fondue? And I was like well, we fondue, and then he was like "Well, I am Fond Oh You" and it was really cute. xD

Then of course there's Bucky.
bucky glance
I couldn't help but think that writers really like to throw characters from high places (Loki, Bucky, Sherlock.....)
bucky fall
Poor cap...

And of course the end of the movie also hurt my heart. "I had a date." Just, ow my feels. T_T

I'm really happy that I've watched that now so Cap can be one of my Marvel bbs properly.
captain-america-vs-loki-o
Of course Loki is still my bb 1000000%

I feel a bit spoiled as I didn't feel like there was any eye candy in that movie for me though (besides the little bit with Clara).
Cap!Loki costume is a bit much
Well ok now that I can certainly get behind xD

I have more things to post about, but I'll have to talk about them later! This weekend was the start of Fur Rondy, a winter festival that coincides with the Iditarod here, and we went out to enjoy some of the stuffs!
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel Loki restore to "glory")
So I am finally feeling well enough that I can start on my arts again! Did some painting on Pony!Loki, it's not done yet but I wanted to give him shaded socks and hoof colour.
DSCN5080.JPG
Oh, I love painting, it is a purrfect activity!

I also have a REALLY strong inspiration for another sculpt, but I actually want to use my Wacom tablet for it instead of my sketchbook like usual. I don't have it configured for my computer though, so Scottie being his awesome self is going to set that up for me tomorrow. I don't want to say what exactly it is just yet, but I swear when I woke up this morning all I wanted to do was go start on this project. I had to go to work though instead, ah well! I need infinite time. lol

I watched the Olympics women's figure skating long program tonight! I'm going to be so sad when this is all over. n_n'
I really loved Yuna Kim's performance! I was happy for her. I liked how artistic it felt. I also enjoyed Adelina Sotnikova's program! I liked Yuna's a bit more though. I apprieciated and respected Carolina Kostner's, but it wasn't really my taste. I did like it more as it progressed though. I still love Julia Lipnitskaia, I felt bad for her when she fell. Loved Ashley Wagner's performance, and she had one of my favorite outfits of the night. I also loved loved loved Akiko Suzuki's outfit. So pretty. :3 Also, she was skating to Phantom of the Opera, which I love, that music is something that I am most intimately familiar with. :3
johnny-weir-be-unique-o
Ending with the fabulous Johnny Weir, who gets Loki mixed in with him when I google him. xD
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Loki)
So I don't have a lot of time to post as I need to get to bed, but I wanted to make a quick little post. Just watched Star Trek: Into Darkness. I've been meaning to watch this movie for ages now, and tonight we finally grabbed it from RedBox. I really, really liked it! We'd gone to see the first one in the theater, but we didn't get to see this one there. Kinda wish that I had been able to!
As we were walking to the truck I was saying to Scottie that I was going to see an attractive british villian in a glass box, though not my favorite flavor of attractive british villian in a glass box. xD
Loki in glass box
That would be this bb right here, who isn't really a villian but I'm going to go with it for what I'm trying to say here.

What was I saying? Oh, here's the british villian on a glass box I'm talking about!
startrek-into-darkness-19
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN OH wait we're not there yet. Hello Khan how are you?

Upcoming under the cut:
Hiddles spoilers
I was SO AMUSED by the paralells between Khan's capture and Loki's capture. I said to Scottie that Khan needed to give someone a knowing smile to someone as he was being marched in.
More generally, I thought that Benidict Cumberbatch did a really good job with the part. :3

I thought it was rather appropriate that in the parallel universe Spock was the one shouting KHAAAAAAAAN (I mean, that is so iconic). Also, the fact that Kirk sacrificing himself in the same way that Spock sacrificed himself in the past movies was a nice touch.

I had to fangirl squee at Original!Spock making an appearance to talk to New!Spock. Spock is one of my most favorite characters and has been since I was a kid so much love. <3 <3 <3

I want to talk more about it but I've already stayed up too late, and I'm planning on going in to work tomorrow. So later!
milleniumgypsy: (Hiddleston- thoughtful face)
So I didn't get to post about Valentines Day on the day, Scottie and I unfortunetly didn't feel well last night so we had a pretty quiet night. I've been really sick today, which is less than fun. I hope that I feel better tomorrow!
But the fact that I feel super crummy is not the reason I'm here! Scottie being awesome is, and other fun Valentines things. xD

So we went to the library on the day before Valentines, and we found some fun displays. Mystery dates with books!
Library display )

The books were wrapped up in paper and ribbon, with little plot details on the cover. Scottie picked one out! I was thinking about picking one up, but I have so many comics that I'm reading right now! Also I listen to audiobooks all day at work so I'm less inclined to read other books at home.
Here's what he picked up!
A mystery date with a book? )

We also went to the store to pick up groceries. We saw these cupcakes and thought they might be candidates for cakewrecks.
Because we are 5 )

This is what Scottie surprised me with on Valentines morning!
Homemade chocolates Scottie surprised me with for Valentines!
Those are homemade kit-kat bars, and little chocolate hearts that he made. <3 He is such a sweetie! They are so good too! :D He posted how he made them at his journal here if you'd like to know how to make them!
hiddles chocolate

I'm making him a comic, though I didn't quite finish it yet. Mostly because of the illness that I'm feeling atm.
I also finished painting the bluebird ornament that I made him, I need to take a picture of that now. :3 I also woke Scottie up by singing him "Your Song" from Moulin Rougue. I do have a good singing voice, but I tend to be shy so he likes when I make the effort to sing for him. n_n'
hiddles singing
This is not how brave I am with the singing~

Also, today we saw that there was new Borderlands 2 DLC, the Valentines headhunter pack Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre! I saw the name and I was like IT'S THE RED WEDDDING EHEHEHE~ Scottie hasn't read Game of Thrones yet, but I am currently just about to the Red Wedding in the books right now. So I was especially amused. xD
The headhunter packs are only $3, and we still had just over $3 left on our PSN account, so we picked that up right away! We played through that today, which was exciting. Since I've been sick all day today there wasn't that much that I could do. Games work though!
milleniumgypsy: (Hiddleston- thoughtful face)
It won't be Valentines day here for another half hour, but I wanted to take a quick picture with Cupid for it. I decided Pony!Lala made sense for a picture. I might do something with Pony!Loki, but he's not finished yet so that's not quite as easy. n_n

DSCN4992.JPG
All of the hearts!

I want to post so many things, but I am so tired! Also, Scottie is shooing me off to bed because I am dead on my feet. n_n'
hiddles pillow fight end bye
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel Loki kneel before him)
Just a quick entry as holy kau it's late, but I was just so excited to start on Pony!Loki's armour. I'm starting with Loki's bracers, these will go on his forelegs. I've just done the one side so far, and I'll definitely use paint to help bring out the detail after baking. Also I'm probably going to add moar battle scarring. (Those gashes are totes intentional!) I should probably take a closer picture of the detail, but that's not going to happen quite yet. n_n'

Beginning armour for Pony!Loki
I suppose that will suffice.

Closer view of the bracers
I do need a closer view, you can't really see but there is a snake in the top right corner.

This isn't the best view of what they look like for reference, but I like this anyway. *koff*
Loki shhhh

Tonight I watched curling with Scottie tonight! I think that's a really interesting sport. I just wish they didn't have to jump ahead in the game so much, we're actually interested in seeing how they get to the points where it's "exciting". xD

Also watched Lost Girl, but I shouldn't get into that quite yet.
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Loki mischevious)
Last night and today I've continued painting Pony!Loki. :3 I needed to get a few more coats of white on to have a good uniform colour. I'm happy with that, I might do a bit of sanding. He has eye colour now too!
Tomorrow I'm going to start on armour, which I'm really excited about. xD Also, I'll need to start on detail paint.

Pony!Loki sculpt painting continued
He's cool like Abbey, literally!
...

I watched the opening ceremony with Scottie last night! I missed the very beginning, so I didn't see the mistake with the snowflake rings. I thought a lot of the show was pretty cool though! Scottie and I both had issues with the camera work though, Scottie even more than me. Like, we wanted to see the far out view most of the time, because that's where you get the full effect. But randomly you'd swoop in close where it didn't look as impressive or interesting, or go out to somewhere that looked interesting but not where you wanted to be looking. Scottie really just wanted them to pick a good angle/distance and stay there.

My favorite part of the show was the War and Peace ballet. I'm in the middle of reading that book, so it was especially neat.
I had the most issues with the camera work there, because I'd be looking at the main dancers which is supposed to be the focal point, and then for some reason we'd be looking at the background dancers, and then we'd be in the nosebleed section for some reason... and I just wanted to watch the story.

I also really liked the inflated onion domes. That was really beautiful. Me and Scottie were impressed by the girl walking up the ramp of people. I also liked that she came back for the end!
Other favorite parts were the constellation athletes, and the roller skaters under them. It made me think of Van Gogh's Starry Night.

And then there was the dance number with the dancers with the lights? It so reminded me of this. xD

Considering all of the anti-gay stuff from Russia, I was rather surprised to hear tATu.

In other news today (for just a little bit so far since it's currently 2 am) is Tom Hiddleston's birthday!
Hiddles oooooo
I am endlessly amused that Hiddles is almost exactly Scottie's age. They are less than two weeks apart in age, born the same year, and are both Aquarius. I have to say that was a good year! xD

I heard on the radio on Friday that a nearby McDonalds was having a grand reopening, and they were going to have free cake and free samples today. Since I like cake, and I especially like free cake, Scottie brought me there. Now that I think about it, I'm rather amused that I ended up having cake today. xD
milleniumgypsy: (Hiddleston- I am the bad guy)
I did end up making the mane of Pony!Loki yesterday, but I just didn't get to post about it quite yet. I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out. :3 I'd started it on Friday actually, but I only got the core started before I ended up having issues with dizzyness.
I had been rather excited though about how well the covered core actually worked all by itself for Loki out of the first Thor lol. But here it is finished! I need to bake it, and then I can start on painting. Or maybe I should do armour first. I'll have to think about how exactly I want to do things.

Pony!Loki sculpt continued

One more picture )

Also, today was the Superbowl! I've never actually watched the Superbowl before. lol I mean, I sort of did once when I was still at Signal and me and Scottie went to a Superbowl potluck, but I was really there for the potluck and the socializing. And alchohol. ehehehe n_n'
I decided that I wanted to watch the Superbowl though because I knew that Hiddles was going to be on a Jaguar commercial (british villians, #GoodtobeBad) and I wanted to see it. I had to laugh about it because I've never watched the Superbowl for the sports OR the ads before. But there I was! Scottie's not a huge sports fanatic, so he usually doesn't mind that I'm disinterested in most sports, but I think he was excited that I was actually excited to put on a sports thing. lol He watched the game with me. :3 I only wish the game had been more interesting for him!
I sort of paid attention to the game, but I honestly had more fun looking at the silly commercials while flailing around with fellow Hiddlestoners on twitter waiting for Hiddles to appear. xD
good to be bad
It was so worth it!

There was supposed to be an ad for Muppets Most Wanted on the Superbowl, but I didn't see it. I'm not sure if it got replaced by a local ad or what, but I was kind of bummed. But I did watch the spot on youtube afterward, and it was hilarious. xD What I found really funny though was that I switched to the Puppy Bowl after the Superbowl was off, and I saw a special spot for Muppets there which included Hiddles. EVERYONE WAS TARGETING ME LOL.
Is that you Steve?
Hiddles looks like Steve here. Also, more Hiddles in chains. *koff*
Loki define worse
bb why does everyone want to put you in chains?

I had way more fun than I was expecting though! I liked the halftime show with Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers quite a lot! I also liked all the fireworks, and the Broncos even lead the team out with a horse!
There were other fun commercials too besides the ones with Hiddles. I saw the spot for Captain America 2, Spider-Man 2, plus ads with Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle (Colonel James Rhodes/War Machine). Outside of my Marvel bbs, the spot with Morpheous was awesome, and Colbert was hilarious.

Also, Scottie and I made homemade nachos for the day! He made a fresh salsa and we made our own chips. He actually started before I woke up, and he took some pictures before I woke up because he knew that I'm all about pictures. :3
He's such a sweetie! Also, I say Scottie and I made the nachos, but really I'm his sous chef. xD

Food porn )

Superbowl Sunday nachos
The finished plate of nachos! They were so good. :D

Apparently, I had a lot of things to say. xD
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Loki throwing up horns)
Just a quick update post! I haven't been feeling very well this evening, which isn't really helpful for posting. n_n'

But I repaired Pony!Loki! I carved off the edges from the head and ear (which fixed the problems from it baking bent), and then I sculpted the ear back onto the head. I was going to just sculpt on a whole new ear if that didn't work, but since I liked the way the first ear had turned out I was at least going to try to repair the original ear. Since I knew I was going to do a short bake on the sculpt anyway, I also did some more sculpting around the hooves and legs.
I baked him, and everything seems to have turned out alright! Now tomorrow I'll be able to start on the next stage. :3
loki thumbs up

I watched the most recent episode of Face-Off tonight! I was super excited about the dragon make-ups they were doing. I really loved the frozen dragon! So happy that won. I was also amused that the seahorse dragon girl was so positive that she was going home, which I understand because she had a lot of issues, but she didn't even end up on the bottom. That says a lot for the sculpt that she was able to get out there. I totally agreed with what they said about the dragon that was sent home- I mean he had a lot of work there but the first thing I said when I saw it was that it didn't read as a dragon to me. It looked like cross between a yappy dog and a fish wearing armor.
I don't remember anyone's names yet, but I liked that the guy that picked the Frozen theme was excited about recognizing the location for Stark's house. xD

Also continued watching Helix, is anyone else watching that show on here? I like the concepts, and I really want to like the show, but I have issues with the choices that they make on the show. Since they're supposed to be a group of exceptionally smart people you'd think that they'd make less stupid decisions. xP
On the premeire I'd tweeted about the show and one of the actresses had favorited them, which was really neat to me. ehehehe n_n'
Scottie said the most recent episode made him think that the show was originally intended to be set in space, and that makes a lot of sense!
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Iron Man LOL)
Today is Scottie's ([livejournal.com profile] tanvan) birthday! Well, at the time of this posting it was yesterday as it's after midnight, but ya'know what I mean. n_n'

I had an idea to make him a pendant. It might be a little silly, and I don't really think it's for actual wearing, but it could be hung somewhere. n_n'
I wanted to make him something that looks like the pendant that Tony gives to Pepper at the end of Iron Man 3 (because Scottie is totes my Pepper).
pepperony gift

I wanted to include a bluebird because I'd given Scottie the bluebird sculpt as an earlier gift because it's the bluebird of happiness.
Beginning sculpt pic )
I might make another one later because I think something more like real jewelry is what I'd want to really do, and the transparent clay that I used for the heart didn't turn out as clear as I'd have wanted after I'd added the red clay. But still, I think it turned out alright. Here it is before baking, presented by Cupid! The bluebird will need paint. :3
Scottie's birthday present
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Loki)
Tonight I did some more sculpting on the Loki pony. I worked more on the face sculpt, then attached the head to the body. I did some sculpting around the neck, and also planned the ears. I didn't get quite as far as I'd have wanted to, but still- got some done!

DSCN4845.JPG

Tomorrow I should be able to finish up the neck, then sculpt the ears and start the mane and tail. :3

In other news, Scottie has been an amazing chef lately (like he always is, but still!) Since I was sick on Sunday he made chicken noodle soup for me from scratch. It was so good! And then yesterday he made homeade spring rolls, which were amazing. I was also having a craving for spagetti last week when I was feeling the most sick, and he ran out at midnight to get spagetti and sauce so I could have spagetti. He's such a sweetie! xD I think he wanted to make sure that I was eating so that I'd be able to get better sooner.
hiddles eating apology

So sleepy, I hope I'm making some amount of sense. Time for bed!
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel Loki incredulous)
Today I made more progress on the Loki pony. I finished sculpting the legs, and set them baking. Tomorrow I should be able to finish the head sculpt, and sculpt the legs to the body. I have plans for the mane and tail that should be interesting should I go with it. Then armour. :D

I could bake this for you, ya'know...
Heath: Ya'know, I could bake this for you!
Abbey: Perhaps you would have use as sculpt baker.
Frankie: I don't think that's how it works guys...

I might have gotten a bit further, but we were both rather antsy so we went out for a bit. We went to the comic book store. I didn't see the next issue of Young Avengers and I'm not sure if I should be worried about that since it's supposed to have been published already... I do have a pull box but nobody ever puts anything in it. I really need to fix that. I'd be really annoyed if I missed the final issue simply because of a mix-up with my box.

Since I wasn't picking up a copy of Young Avengers, I went and picked up a copy of Journey Into Mystery #622, which is the start of kid Loki. :3 I really want to get all of those back issues!

I felt bad because the girl checking me out was asking me if I saw and liked Thor 2, and was talking to me about how she really liked the comic I was picking up, and I was feeling all flustered because of random anxiety I've been dealing with today and because I was having trouble breathing because of the tail end of my plague. Afterward I was like OMG SOMEBODY WANTED TO TALK TO ME IRL ABOUT THE STUFF THAT I FANGIRL ABOUT AND THIS IS THE TIME THAT MY BRAIN AND BODY DECIDE THEY WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING FUNCTIONAL. ASDFGHLJLLKJFWHY

What I got at the comic book store today
Anyway, the girl put a preview comic in my bag, and one of the first things that I saw was a teaser for Loki: Agent of Asgard WHICH I AM UNCONTROLLABLY EXCITED FOR. xD
Hiddles uncontrollably excited

I didn't get to unbox all of my new dolls today because we spent part of the day out and about, but Scottie did unbox his Operetta and I snapped a quick picture. Here she is!
Quick picture of Operetta! )
The Dance Class Operetta has swing dancing as her theme. Which is especially appropriate, since Scottie was vice president of the swing dance club at our university. :D I also swing dance, but I don't have that distinction. I just went to the meetings and danced! xD
hiddles snl dance
Have a completely unrelated gif of Hiddles dancing because I do what I want.
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel Loki restore to "glory")
Tonight I continued on with my Loki pony sculpt! I worked mostly on the legs. I made foil cores for the leg armatures and hooves, which is actually not something I normally do. Normally the limbs of my sculpts are just clay because that's easier, but I'm getting low on clay stores so I wanted to try the foil. I think it's going alright, it just takes more effort. xD I have the back legs roughed out, and the front legs near finishing. I also conditioned clay for the rest of the sculpt. I also did a bit of fiddling around with the head and body.

Continuing Loki pony sculpt
I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along.

I'm still sick, but I did manage to go into work today. I'm actually doing better, though I'm still depending on cold medicine to allow me to continue to be at least somewhat functional.

The weather here today is weeeeird. I left work a little early today since I'd been fairly productive and I felt ill. I only walked home this week on Monday, but every day after that Scottie's been picking me up from work since walking home in the cold while sick didn't seem like a great plan. I miss the excercise but I certainly want to get better. But since I was leaving a little early the sun was actually still out, and not only that but it was raining. And it wasn't freezing rain like I'd feared it would be, it was just... raining. And SUPER windy. I felt like I was walking out into the twilight zone because just, wut. It is currently 36°F, that is so so weird. I expect this time to be somewhere closer to like -10°F or something lol. I know this can't last, but I'll enjoy it while it does?
The wind was crazy though. With the high winds and the wet ice I felt like I was going to get blown away when I was walking outside. We stopped at the grocery store and when we were leaving the wind blew a bunch of ice/snow off of the roof and caused Scottie and me to get pelted by rocks when it hit. I'm glad that it didn't hit us though because that would have been less than pleasant. :P

I scored an awesome deal on some dolls while we were there! Fred Meyer had a selection of MH dolls on clearance, and then they had all of their clearance stuff at an additional 40% off. I haven't bought new dolls in forever so I only had a couple of the dolls that were on clearance! (In fact, there were a couple of dolls in that selection that I couldn't pick up that I didn't already have lol)
Scottie has our budget planned out so that I can get a doll in a month, and I spent my doll budget tonight. xD It was awesome though because for the budget (allowing for one doll) I was able to get four! It was slightly over, but one of the dolls was for Scottie because he collects Operetta and there was a Dance Class Operetta that he's been wanting. I'm so happy he was able to finally get her!
For myself I picked up a Dance Class Robecca Steam (my first doll for that character!), and an I <3 Shoes Lala and an I <3 Shoes Cleo.
hiddles success
I'll have to unbox them tomorrow, but I should get to bed now. n_n'
milleniumgypsy: (Marvel- Loki shift)
hiddle sneeze
I am so sorry guys I'm still sick and that's not really doing wonders for my posting/commenting. I'm unfortunetly not any better than I was last Thursday when this started, and the last few days have been remarkably worse than before. Ugh go away plague.

I've still been dragging my butt to work, but I'm giving in and taking a day off of work tomorrow. Possibly Friday too though I don't really want to take out that much leave, so hopefully I don't have to- I cash out leave to supplement our income but I can't do that if I use it.

I told Scottie that I was going to stay home and instead infect a fictional city with the plague playing Dishonored. lol

Scottie was awesome though and found Lego Marvel short films I hadn't seen before. THEY WERE SO CUTE, OMG. He watched them with me, and I said it was totally a win because my face hurt because I was smiling so hard instead of hurting because it hurt. lol
lego loki
Loki was the main villian for all of the shorts, making minions out of other villians. There were a lot of different heroes! Including Spidey, which makes me happy because he's one of my early bbs. xD

Here's a link to the first episode in case you haven't seen it yet and would like to. :3

When I got home tonight I basically just cuddled with Scottie and watched tv. Excited about the return of Face-off and Suburgatory, will have to talk about those later!

It's really late so I don't have a lot of time to post, but I did do some sculpting tonight! I decided on the spur of the moment that my normal pony head sculpt is a bit too soft for Loki so I edited my plans. Scottie came by and looked and said I had a nice jawline and cheekbones going on my sculpt. ehehehe xD I'm rather proud of that.

Still sick, bleh. Not excited about work tomorrow.

I still need to do detail painting and accessories for N, but since I'm sick stuff like that isn't exactly the best idea.

So starting my next pony first! Here's a quick teaser picture. :3
Beginning of Loki pony sculpt :3

I was so inspired this morning, the last few hours of my sleeping was filled with figuring out how I wanted to do upcoming projects, and new things to do, and things to write. I said that I felt like Pierro out of Dishonored (in case you don't get the reference, the Outsider comes to him in dreams and gives him plans for inventions to work on). Scottie asked me if the Outsider had come to me too, and I was like nuuu, then he asked me if Loki had come to me and I was like well Loki is my muse. xD

A good portion of those plans are Loki projects too though. ehehehe

I have to post about how awesome Scottie had been this weekend (well, he's always awesome, but you know what I mean), but I should probably get to sleep. Why is it Monday tomorrow uuuugh.

So Scottie, being the wonderful man that he is, went out with me to the Fire and Ice New Years Eve celebration downtown even though he's not terribly excited to wander around in the cold amidst crowds of people. I love fireworks, so even with the crowds I want to see them! Plus, they have fire dancers and ice sculptures and everything and I think it's a lot of fun.

Fire Dancing at NYE celebration
I took much neater video of fire dancing, but I need to figure out how to edit it so I can put it up (does anyone have recommendations for that?). I tried to take a couple of pictures but I was sure they weren't going to turn out, and I didn't want to spend all of the dance attempting to take pictures that weren't going to work. Especially since it was really cold, and it was hard to get my fingers to continue to do something that needed as much fineese as pressing the focus button. lol
I did get a couple more pictures though, and these turned out way better than I expected. xD Most of the time there were multiple people doing even more wild things though. It did my little pyro heart good to watch. xD

More fire dancing )

We were planning on getting food at one of the food carts, and I took a picture of the beginning of the line. I'd heard about this cupcake place, and I didn't know they'd won on Cupcake Wars before (I've seen a few episodes of that show but I don't think I've seen them, but I'll only watch that show if I'm really really in the mood for a cake decorating show and there isn't anything else available).

We didn't end up eating anything at the carts though because the lines were insanely long. Like, it was really bad. We would have ended up standing in line in the mobs forever, and I'd rather go look at things and/or move around to keep warm. I'm glad we had something to eat before we went!

I took some pictures of the ice sculptures around the square! There were some neat things, but it seemed like there weren't nearly as many as before. I think the weather was poor for it, I mean we had all that rain not that long ago, so I guess I'm not surprised. Still, some neat things!

Ice Sculptures on NYE
These were my favorite! There were a few of these teacups for kids to play in, and they actually spin!
More ice sculptures )

This was the indoor concert, which was neat. We popped inside for a minute to warm up while we were waiting, but while I thought the guys sounded fine it the hall was a bit echoy for the show and they were loud, so we didn't stay long.
Not a great picture, but here was the concert )

And then there were fireworks! My favorite fireworks looked like shooting stars. So pretty! I don't take pictures of fireworks though, so have a gif of London fireworks. xD

It was so nice having Scottie with me! I got hugs while I was watching. :3

I'd been meaning to take pictures of the square in general, but I didn't want to do that until the other more interesting things were no longer going on. Fire dancing might end, but the trees would still be there afterwards after all. So after the fireworks I told Scottie I wanted to get a couple of pictures of the trees. However, after taking a couple of pictures with the camera where it couldn't seem to focus, which sucked more because my numb fingers made fumbling with the camera super difficult, the camera told me the battery was dead- mostly because of the cold sapping the power I'm sure.
But then I pulled out my phone because that has a pretty decent camera, and Scottie sighed because he wasn't able to escape to warmth just yet. ehehehe

The town square was filled with trees decorated with Christmas lights. Most of the trees were decorated with blue lights. The biggest tree was decorated with multicolour lights and a big star plus blue lights that were really neat, they sort of looked like they were flowing.

I really enjoyed the event! I especially loved the fire dancing (I'll have to get video up to really show how cool it was) and fireworks!
Loki smile
I'm so happy that Scottie came out with me! He's such a sweetie. :3

We park way out of the way when we go to this, one of the benefits of me doing my observer training when we moved here is that section of town is actually one of the places here that I'm most familiar with in this city. We park near where my observer training bunkhouse is and walk down to the festivities. It's helpful in avoiding all the traffic congestion, and we don't have to pay to park back there. It's a bit of a hike, but I think it's well worth it.

When we got home it was only like 10 pm. I did some stuff on the computer and then curled up with Scottie and watched the ball drop at Times Square with Carson Daly.

I'm planning on writing a year end wrap-up post, and post resolutions soon. But I wanted to write about my NYE and that's a big enough thing on it's own. ehehehe
