Overdue sculpting update and another AMA question!

Do you believe in divination? Have you ever had a fortune reading? If not, is it something that you would have done at some point? icecoldrain

I do! Scottie has done tarot readings for me, and I've also had them done by a woman at my old wiccan group. Scottie is better though. I have a dragon deck but I've not done any readings yet. I am looking for an appropriate deck for myself. I like the dragons but it's not the right one- I'd really like a Norse deck but there aren't that many good ones that I can find. Scottie was even talking about me making my own set but that's not something I'm going to do right now. :3

What about you friends?

This is the last few days worth of sculpting progress actually. There is a lot of fiddley work with a human face, but I do like how it's coming along. Tonight I actually resculpted the left eye, I'd had that done earlier but I'd decided that it should be redone. I like it much better now. :3 I've worked on the right side of the face, head shaping, started the mouth sculpt, cheekbones, etc etc.
Also in this picture the Pony!Loki armour pieces are nearby. :3

Now it's time for sleeps, hopefully.

Neat! I've had some readings and I am in the process of learning to give readings.

I hear you. I've seen some Norse decks but the artwork was eh. Or maybe I just wasn't feeling the call to those particular decks lol. I've thought about making my own deck but it appears to be really expensive to have them printed!

Yeah, the only Norse deck that I like is out of print and rather expensive. I'm so bummed that there aren't nicer ones! There is one deck that I'd thought was promising because I liked some of it's art, but then I saw that it was a mixed artist deck and I really didn't like other parts of it. :P

I think I've seen the one that you're talking about! I saw a Legend of Link one, but the artwork was really bad. I really want this one Hello Kitty one, but it's out of print from the person who designed it. There's another Hello Kitty one floating around but the artwork is meh. There are a ton of different decks out there, so I hope you find the one!

I'm not that great at reading, I'm still learning but I used to have an amazing fairy deck but it got ruined, Been looking for a new deck, ive seen some I liked, but they lacked that connection.

I really want to learn how to read, I just haven't had time. :3 I'm sorry that your faerie deck got ruined though! It's so frustrating trying to find a deck that you connect with, we need Ollivander's for tarot cards. lol

I don't have a strong connection to my dragon deck either, but it wasn't mine to begin with, it's an extra of Scottie's. Scottie is really good with readings. :3 I know what theme I want, there just aren't many and with the exception of one expensive one I don't like most of them. :P

I don't believe in the power of tools themselves (tarot cards, ouija boards, etc), but I do believe that some people are intuitive or clairvoyant or whatever you wanna call it. It's up to them whether they need or want to use the tools, but ultimately the divination comes from somewhere else. I do find fortune telling instruments interesting and artistic, in fact I started making new tarot cards for my sister years ago but never finished because of technical difficulties.

I don't believe that the tools themselves are the source of power either, I think that it's just a focus for the user. That's one of the reasons that I want a specific kind of deck, it needs to be the proper focus for me. Also since I'm an artsy person I'm going to be picky with the art style, and there aren't many Norse decks to choose from.

That's neat that you were making a tarot deck! What kind was it?

Just a very modified occult deck, because her deck was so worn out. I was using Photoshop to make photos look like illustrations (with the poster filter, I think?) and then I was coloring them with colored pencils and adding the symbols and such. But that laptop lost its mind and no longer acknowledges Wi-Fi which it needs to connect to the printer, plus some of the photos are no longer relevant anyway. I may start a new deck project for her, your entry has inspired me.
