milleniumgypsy: (Neopets- Taelia's necklace)
Scottie made me the most beautiful necklace and earring set as a surprise! They are so pretty! I am a lucky woman. :3

Here they are! )

This are pictures from his flickr photostream. :3 He also has an entry on his journal about them. He's [livejournal.com profile] tanvan. :3

I just love everything about them!

All of the wirework was custom made for the jewelry, he even made a swan clasp out of the same wire (though that's not pictured). :3

So I still haven't done a real photoshoot with Skelita and Jina, but I did take some pictures of Skelita today! I thought that since she was such a unique doll she could get a bit of a review. :3 I have a couple of pictures showing the body sculpt, then a couple pictures showing the face, and a couple of her posing. :3

Skelita review
Skelita pictures! )

One sad thing is that she's not as well balanced as the other dolls, though I'm not surprised since the body has so much less mass but the head is the same as other dolls. I'm also not quite sure how to get her legs to bend. Are they supposed to bend? They don't seem to want to and I don't want to break her legs trying, but I'm assuming that they're just stiff.

We're still going with our diet! It's going well. :D We've started reintroducing some carbs into our diet. Scottie surprised me with french toast with seared bananas. The french toast was made with a piece of whole grain bread (and a very specific flour needed to be used, not overly processed). We had a little maple syrup on it too, and then we just needed to make sure that we were good for the rest of the day. It was so worth it!

Happy Valentine's day everyone!

I made Scottie a Portal (with a bit of chemistry) card at work today for Valentines day. (I'm wooing with SCIENCE!) I was excited to do it at work because it was a total surprise. xD I have a couple of breaks and I used them to make the card. He really liked it! We went out and got some food, cheating on our diet a bit but it's alright to do that now and then! Neither of us had to cook this way. Scottie was joking about not having had time to take a shower so he'd be all grubby, I said he wasn't grubby. Of course, when he picked me up from work he was all spiffed up and was wearing my favourite cologne. It's what he wore when he proposed to me, so it's extra special. :3

I decided to do a photoshoot for Valentine's day, I certainly needed to do something with Cupid for it! Rochelle also seemed like a good pick for a picture shoot since she's got the pink colours. I also got a really cute little Vday teddy bear from Michaels this weekend and wanted to use that... There's also a pic of Cupid with Clawd and Lala because I thought that would be cute. I had fun. hehe

Pretty in Pink

More pictures! )

In other news I started watching the most ridiculous anime on Netflix today. Oran High School Host Club. It is just soooo over the top it's hilarious. xD I don't even know how to describe it, but I'm having fun with it. lol
milleniumgypsy: (Girl with umbrella)
Tonight I continued sculpting the male head. I finished sculpting the second eye, worked on the brows, and tweaked the cheeks and mouth. I'm happy with how he's coming along! The first head in the picture is the second head that I sculpted, and while I kinda like it, I don't think it's what I want. I'm thinking I might save it for a different character and sculpt a different head entirely. I have a plan in mind for that earlier head, but I'm not quite sure yet.
I also tweaked the second female head (3rd head in picture). I'm actually pretty happy with her, but I needed to tweak her nose and mouth a bit. I'm probably going to tweak her further, but I think I addressed what I felt really needed to be fixed. :3
They're all ready for ears!

In this picture there is a tiny grey head, Scottie actually sculpted that today and last night! The head is baked, and the eyes are already painted. :D It's so small, and I'm super excited that he's getting into sculpting! He wants to make a DnD figure, and this little sculpt is a planning sculpt for his final one which will be even smaller!

Progress for today, plus a teaser pic of Scottie's sculpt! )

Here's our Sunday Pathfinder game! If you want to read the story of what's going on, Scottie is blogging it from the viewpoint of his character. It's really neat! His username is [livejournal.com profile] tanvan. :3 The map is something that got out of the book, made it bigger in the gimp, split it up into something that we could print, then taped the pieces together into one large map. It's such an awesome thing to use for gaming!
Picture of our Sunday game, plus our gamer foods! )

I also got a picture of Chaos exploring the back of the couch. I thought it was cute!
Ferret! )
milleniumgypsy: (Heart bubbles animated)
So Scottie has a request on his userlookup here for me to write a bio for him. I've been meaning to write it but I kept forgetting to do it. Hope it's not to sappy, but here's what I wrote for him. I wonder if this also counts as sappy Valentines stuff? I just realised how close it is to Vday. lol

Scottie is the most amazing man in the world!

Scottie is a creator of things. He makes jewelry, leather journals, drawings, stories and more. He knits and crochets beautiful things. He always wants to learn to make new things. He always has amazing ideas and inspirations!

He loves music. He has a musical background and was a band geek. :3 He can play the saxaphone, and is learning to play the guitar and piano. He can read sheet music and is teaching me how to read it. He sings to me, and it is awesome.

He is very kind! He wants to help everyone. Even if it doesn't seem like a big thing to him to help our disabled neighbor bring her groceries up to her apartment, or to run to help someone push their car out of an icy patch, or to continually give blood at the Red Cross, it really is!

He loves to read and blazes through piles of books!

He's a giant geek, which I love! He loves open source things and prefers Linux over anything else. He programs things for fun.

He enjoys gaming of all kinds! He likes to play or run DnD, Pathfinder, and other adventures. He enjoys playing board games, card games, and video games!

He knows how to swing dance and is very good! :D He likes to run.

Also, he's totally hawt. ;D

In related news, he's now journaling our Pathfinder adventure at his journal! ([livejournal.com profile] tanvan if you'd like to look). He's writing it from the perspective of his character. :3
milleniumgypsy: (balloons)
I haven't posted recently, partly because I've been busy because Sunday was Scottie's birthday! (He's [livejournal.com profile] tanvan btw! xD)

First things first we went to see Les Mis, he was really excited to see it! I enjoyed it way more than I thought I was going to (I kept hearing how depressing it was). It wasn't nearly as depressing as all that, lol. We haven't been to the movies in ages so it was extra special. n_n'

I've been planning on running a Pathfinder game for Scottie, so I started getting ready to play on Saturday. We had gotten a couple of paths from Paizo a couple years ago but never had time to play and now we're doing it! The first volume of the adventure is in the second picture. :3 It's kind of weird to me because I'm used to making up the whole thing, but having a premade adventure works way better when I'm working. Less to prepare!

We found an awesome game mat a few years ago and Scottie built a table that fits it perfectly! We also have a plexiglass top that we can put over the mat, and I can draw on it with dry erase markers. It's also beautiful when we take the mat off, it has a lovely stained wood finish underneath. :)

Games! )

For dinner that night Scottie made stuffed peppers! They were super good. :D

Tasty foods! )

Here's a picture of Scottie with the ferrets at the end of the night! They were being all cute and cuddley. :3

Armful of ferrets! )

I also got him a "card", which was an omnibus of Ghost Whisperer comics! I thought that a comic was a much cooler thing than a card and something that Scottie would probably enjoy more. n_n I'm also getting him a razor, we just haven't gotten it yet. :3

I also have been sculpting, but I haven't posted about it yet! I just don't think I've done enough yet to warrant a post. n_n
milleniumgypsy: (walking kitty)
So tonight I continued sculpting one of the 2nd batch of heads. I really like how the eyes aren't as pushed in, that makes me certain that I should pull the eyes back out of that first female head because I'm actually able to do something more like I want to with them properly placed. :P

I did some more work on her nose and the bridge of her nose, sculpted her brows, worked a bit on her cheeks, totally re-sculpted the lower half of her face since the chin was bigger than I wanted, completely re-sculpted her mouth, and sculpted the eyes. She's not done but she is definitely much better! I actually feel like I'm getting somewhere now, lol. I think besides the odd colour eyes (which can't be fixed until painting), she's not even all that creepy anymore!

Progress for tonight! )

Our diet is still coming along and I've pulled out the Wii balance board! I hadn't been playing it because our poor Wii is dying and I didn't want to use it more than necessary until we could figure out what we're going to do to replace it. We've finally found out that we can transfer our virtual console games to the Wii U, so when we can afford to get one that's totally what we're going to do. Of course, our Wii is still dying, but it's good to have a plan. I like Wii Fit, and I can use it as a scale so I can track my progress. xD

Here's today's menu, minus a couple of cheese sticks as snacks.

Noms! )

This really doesn't feel like dieting, though we do crave sugar! Scottie drinks regular soda so he's actually craving it more often then me. We're drinking diet soda that we make at home with our Sodastream. It's nice because you can buy the syrup to add and it's made with Splenda, not aspertame, so it won't give Scottie migraines! He still doesn't like diet soda, but it helps his soda cravings anyway. n_n'

And a bonus, the kitty decided to help Scottie play the PS3! He decided that he didn't need to sit in Scotties lap, using his arms and chest as a shelf would do. He looks so regal in this pic lol.
Hooman, I command that you play games that I find more interesting! )
milleniumgypsy: (Merry Christmas Ed)
So today I did some sculpting! I didn't get as much done as I wanted today because I came down with something, I actually was feeling off last night but then I woke up this morning to a sore throat. I just hope that it's not strep again!

Anyway, today I mellowed out the muscle definition to something closer to what I want for the end product. I still need to tweek that, and I want to work more on the ribcage area. I'm not going to finish that the rest of the front detailing though until I've done the back. I'm planning on doing that tomorrow. I added breasts to the three girls. They're really coming along I think!

Progress for today! )

I just hope mom doesn't find it too strange that I'm sculpting teh bewbs. She doesn't know that I'm bi, and I know that she's kinda homophobic. I don't think that a human figure as an art piece is something that should be objectionable, but you never know how other people will react. :P

In other news, Christmas was nice! Since neither of us were feeling terribly good, we basically just chilled. Scottie surprised me with french toast for breakfast which was really sweet! For dinner, we had been planning on turkey, but again, feeling crappy, so we did chicken instead because that was a bit less intense. Then Scottie made a cake and cupcakes from scratch, and the cherry frosting was also made from scratch!

Here's Christmas foods! )

I caught up watching some Dr. Who today while cuddling with my cutie, which was nice. I also watched some Rizolli and Isles. I called my mom and sister. It wasn't the best day for me to be making phone calls though with my throat! The one silly thing from my call to my mom was when she couldn't seem to hear when I was telling her that my throat was sore so I couldn't talk too long. I kept having to repeat 'MY THROAT IS SORE.. SORE THROAT..... NO SORE THROAAAAT!'

I hope that everyone had a wonderful day today! Happy Holidays everyone!
milleniumgypsy: (plates of cookies)
A very silly picture of my cutie! )
Here's a picture of the hubby during the dinner prep! There was something in the stove that was smoking a bit, so I had opened the sliding glass door to air the place out. It was really cold out though and Scottie was sitting on the couch next to the open door so I was like 'OMG you must be cold!' so I put a blanket on him. Then I decided that wasn't warm enough. So I put his jacket on top of that. Then I put my hat on him. Then I put his hat on top of that. Then I put my scarf on him. Then I put my jacket on top of his jacket. Then for good measure I put a pillow on top of everything. He allowed me to take a picture of the ridiculousness. xD

Picture of the turkey! )
Here's a picture of the bird!

A picture of dinner on the table! )
And here is a picture of dinner on the table! He had spicy steamed sweet potatoes, a sweet potato casserole, homemade cranberry sauce (might be considered more of a relish), garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, crescent rolls, stuffing, and of course the turkey!

It was a super nice Thanksgiving. :D
milleniumgypsy: (plates of cookies)
I hope that everyone on my FL in the US had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that everyone in general just had an awesome day. :3

Me and Scottie had a lovely day. We cooked up too much delicious food, as always, so we made up lunches of leftovers for me for the next week. xD I'm excited about that!

I also took a few pics, I'll probably post those tomorrow.

Scottie also went out with me to look at a couple of those early Black Friday things. Mainly I wanted to try my luck finding the TRU Monster High Black Friday deal dolls. Of course, I have never done anything with Black Friday before in my life. I don't like dealing with crowds, I've never had any interest in standing in line forever in the cold at 5 am or something so I've just never done anything with that. We generally stay in to avoid all the crazyness.

Unfortunetly I didn't find the dolls. I found one Skull Shores Ghoulia (not on sale) and a couple of Lagoona hydration stations (also not on sale) in one location, random Monster High things like one bathtub, make-up, and books... but otherwise no dolls. I'd gone to where they normally have their MH displays (after getting herded down an aisle that I hadn't realized was blockaded all the way down by displays) and there was nothing there. I was so confused. And all the people everywhere was kind of insane. Scottie even helped me look, but no joy. I couldn't even figure out what was on sale! Even if I found the dolls though, the line in the store wrapped around the building. I have no idea how long I would have ended up in line if I'd found a doll. o_O

Then I went to Michaels because they had a couple good general coupons, but it was busy in there too, though not nearly as bad, and I didn't have anything specific in mind past normal supplies. We decided that since we're not in dire need of anything it was probably best to just go home.

In other news, Scottie gave me an early birthday present the other day! It's a Crayola kid's airbrushing set! xD I do have a real airbrush and compressor, but it's so loud for an apartment and I don't have a well ventilated space to work in, so I haven't really been able to use it. Scottie found out about this other product though and he thought I might have some fun with it! xD I'm looking forward to playing with it! :D He's such a sweetheart. :3
milleniumgypsy: (winter chickadee)
Last night I finished the bluebird sculpt's paint! I'm really happy with how it turned out. This sculpt was for Scottie, it is the bluebird of happiness! I gave it to him for our 5th anniversery. :3 I didn't finish the paint until just now, but I did finish the sculpt at about the right time. n_n I need to add some embellishments for it to really show the bluebird of happiness angle, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Under the cut I have work in progress pics, and little blurbs with what I did. :D

Here are a couple pictures of painting stages, and the finished bluebird! )

DSCN1845.JPG

I have only one last sculpt to paint, the Siamese cat! I actually have a base coat down, which makes it look really good. I'm so excited! :D
milleniumgypsy: (illusen snowglobe)
Today Scottie was awesome and put together terrariums as a surprise for my office! His plan was to remind me of when I worked in Maine with Fish & Wildlife protecting my lovely little Piping Plovers. The plants, with the exception of the moss, are all alive. :3 The ponytail palm reminds me of beach grass (which was his intent), and he has tiny little bird eggs nesting in the sand, which looks like the Plover nests! It is just soooo sweet of him to have done this for me. :D

IMG_20121115_171818.jpg

More detailed pictures below the cut! )

He's so sweet. :D

Yesterday at work, at 4:30 pm the fire alarm started going off. I was confused, and not sure if it was a drill. The fire alarm has never gone off before when I've been there. I've been with Fish & Game for like more than 3 years at this point, but I've spent a fair amount of time in the field, working from home, or on even on leave.

I ran back to my cubicle to grab my jacket and went outside. Winter is here already, so I'm glad I grabbed the jacket! Since it was so close to the end of the day, a lot of people just got in their cars and drove off. I was still assuming it was a fire drill until the fire truck showed up! The firefighters didn't seem terribly concerned, and I didn't see any fire or smoke, so I was hoping it was something minor.

It turned out that this all happened because someone overcooked a bag of microwave popcorn in the breakroom! OMG! One of my coworkers told me that there was another fire alarm about a year and a half ago because someone burned toast! I'm rather amused by so much fuss over such a small thing. xD
milleniumgypsy: (Aragorn/Arwen- one love)
So yesterday I worked on the bluebird further! I finished attaching the wings, and put in all the feathers. Texturing this bird is going to be a long process! I also did a little more sculpting on the face, and got the legs sculpted further. They're ready to attach to the feet and body when I get to that step.

Today I sculpted all the little feathers on the head and a little down the back. Texturing feathers takes waaay longer than fur! Tomorrow I'm going to try and work on more feathering.

So today is the 5th anniversary of my wedding! It's the date that me and Scottie had our Wyoming wedding, not the Michigan ceremony. For people new to my blog, we were married by a Justice of the Peace in Jackson WY with a couple of our friends, and then we had a full wedding ceremony with our family and my friends back in Michigan on the 25th. We'd been living in WY in the Grand Teton National Park and I'd been planning the Michigan ceremony back with my family long distance. We decided one day that we were just going to go get married in WY, lol. The spontaneity of it was awesome, and it also helped because I'd been stressing out about getting the marriage paperwork together in time in the short time we'd be in MI.

For our anniversary, Scottie brought delicious veggie burgers with watermelon toppings to work and had lunch with me. It was very nice! I cut out of work a little early so that I could do more with him today, I can just make up the hours during the week.

For gifts, I'm actually doing something with the bluebird for him (it's the bluebird of happiness!). I didn't quite finish though because of the setbacks I ended up having. He's making me decorated hair-sticks and a jewellery box to keep them in. He's so sweet! It's the wood anniversary so he wanted to do something especially with that. It's also the silver anniversary so he's including silver decorations on them. :D

We ended up playing Borderlands together for most of the evening. Couple that game together stay together! lol :D

I'm a lucky woman, and I'm so happy that we have each other. <3
milleniumgypsy: (Aragorn/Arwen- happiness (coronation))

Well, initially the plan had been for me and Scottie to wait to get married until we went to MI. However, with the limited amount of time that we'll have in MI, and the fact that they have that fun waiting period, we thought that it would be so much easier and less stressful on us if we went and got legally married before we went to MI. So though we haven't had the "real" ceremony yet, we're officially married! It is nice this way though, our friends Nate and Kelcy came with us as our witnesses, and we've been getting congrats from all our friends here at Signal. They decorated Scottie's desk and my work space. They gave us a two tiered newman'O's cake (they're like organic oreos) with an elk and bear toy topper from the gift shop. I'd describe more, but I've been photo-blogging on flickr, and I've taken pictures of all that stuff, so I'm going to try and post on both lj and flickr from now on. Specific photos I'll post on here with entries. I have no intention of abandoning my lj, but with flickr I've been keeping up with my friends back in MI, and with wedding planning I guess I haven't had much time besides the time that I spend just uploading photos I take onto flickr.

I'm also going to do a better update later on!

Hehe, in my case, you only get married twice? (To the same person within a couple of weeks, no less!)
If anyone is on flickr, my photostream is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amanlonde/
I have a lot of friends only photos (the wedding ceremony is mostly friends only), but I'd be glad to friend you guys on flickr too! :)
