Is it madness?

So I didn't hear about all the fuss going on until I saw someone post in one of my communities about a content strike. While I don't know what good it will actually do, I don't think it's a horrible idea. Most people are looking at it from the angle of making lj miss out on advertising- but that doesn't actually do anything from my end as a paid user.

So there are no more basic accounts allowed to new users. It does suck to not be allowed a free ad free experience, but I think that's the norm. I remember when neopets was ad free and the only time you had to deal with sponsors was with sponsor games and such. I think it was a grand time but it didn't last, despite promises. I still play neopets though, and so far I haven't been arsed to buy premium. Scottie has it though, and I love the SSW. He's going to quit premium though soon as he isn't playing enough to justify the cost of it, though he might get it again later when he wants to play again.

I just can't get fired up about this sort of thing anymore. Maybe again in the future, but as long as I can pay for an ad free experience like I've done for the past couple of years- and as long as I get another chance at a permanent account and those don't go away for some asinine reason, I guess I don't really care all that much.

Eh, I shouldn't be posting, I feel all blah. I think I need a nap (I didn't sleep enough last night or the night before or the night before or...) though I don't nap. Plus I have interviews today. Which I need to get fired up about so I don't sound like I'm going to go to sleep on them. :P
