milleniumgypsy: (Marvel Loki incredulous)
Today I made more progress on the Loki pony. I finished sculpting the legs, and set them baking. Tomorrow I should be able to finish the head sculpt, and sculpt the legs to the body. I have plans for the mane and tail that should be interesting should I go with it. Then armour. :D

I could bake this for you, ya'know...
Heath: Ya'know, I could bake this for you!
Abbey: Perhaps you would have use as sculpt baker.
Frankie: I don't think that's how it works guys...

I might have gotten a bit further, but we were both rather antsy so we went out for a bit. We went to the comic book store. I didn't see the next issue of Young Avengers and I'm not sure if I should be worried about that since it's supposed to have been published already... I do have a pull box but nobody ever puts anything in it. I really need to fix that. I'd be really annoyed if I missed the final issue simply because of a mix-up with my box.

Since I wasn't picking up a copy of Young Avengers, I went and picked up a copy of Journey Into Mystery #622, which is the start of kid Loki. :3 I really want to get all of those back issues!

I felt bad because the girl checking me out was asking me if I saw and liked Thor 2, and was talking to me about how she really liked the comic I was picking up, and I was feeling all flustered because of random anxiety I've been dealing with today and because I was having trouble breathing because of the tail end of my plague. Afterward I was like OMG SOMEBODY WANTED TO TALK TO ME IRL ABOUT THE STUFF THAT I FANGIRL ABOUT AND THIS IS THE TIME THAT MY BRAIN AND BODY DECIDE THEY WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING FUNCTIONAL. ASDFGHLJLLKJFWHY

What I got at the comic book store today
Anyway, the girl put a preview comic in my bag, and one of the first things that I saw was a teaser for Loki: Agent of Asgard WHICH I AM UNCONTROLLABLY EXCITED FOR. xD
Hiddles uncontrollably excited

I didn't get to unbox all of my new dolls today because we spent part of the day out and about, but Scottie did unbox his Operetta and I snapped a quick picture. Here she is!
New addition to the family :3
The Dance Class Operetta has swing dancing as her theme. Which is especially appropriate, since Scottie was vice president of the swing dance club at our university. :D I also swing dance, but I don't have that distinction. I just went to the meetings and danced! xD
hiddles snl dance
Have a completely unrelated gif of Hiddles dancing because I do what I want.

Everyone I know who has had a pull box always has people mess them up. I'm not sure why stores offer that service if they can't just organize and keep up with it.

I've never had a pull box before last fall, I was really hoping that it would be more useful than it's turned out to be! :/ I agree, if they can't properly do the service I'd rather it not be offered. It probably helps them to know what people really want, and guarenteed (to a point) sales are good, but if they don't follow through with putting things in they might cause their more devoted customers to be annoyed with them and maybe even go elsewhere.

Operetta is gorgeous!

Do you keep all the boxes/packaging of each of your dolls?

She is! I really like that Operetta. :D

I do, though I'm sure Scottie wishes I didn't! xD I don't keep CAM packaging because they don't have very interesting boxes (more like clear plastic trays). I've been keeping the boxes in our storage closet though I've been meaning to figure out what exactly I want to do with them. Maybe I should just make scans of the art/stories on the boxes and toss out the physical thing so we have less stuff hanging about. n_n

Tough decision - it takes up so much room. Charlotte has kept all her American Girl boxes ... crazy amount of space they take up.

Oh, American Girl boxes would certainly take up room more quickly! At least the MH boxes are a bit smaller but they do take up space. I probably wouldn't have kept them this long except that I can put them in the storage closet where it's out of sight so it doesn't seem so bad. xD

lol, I got yelled at for unpacking my collectors Barbie on Christmas one year while my cousin trashed hers at the same time (oh favoritism). I've been like OMG CAN THIS BE UNPACKED?! on some stuff to this day so I'm like OMG HE UNPACKED OPERETTA?!

Date: 2014-01-19 09:58 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] invsagoth.livejournal.com
Aw, that would be annoying! If they were going to yell at you they should have yelled at her too. Family makes no sense. xP

Scottie's unpacked all of his Operettas but one- they do take up less space unboxed and he likes to set them up on the shelf posed. :D I have almost all of my dolls unboxed as well, we're both of the opinion that leaving them in box sort of defeats the purpose of having them! I still have left some of my more special or finicky dolls boxed for now though (partly because of when we had our kitty, and thinking ahead to future kitties) until I have a more proper space for them.

Yeah, I don't get it sometimes lol. Her collector Barbie was destroyed by the time Christmas dinner was over. Mine looked as good as new and I was playing with it, but I got yelled. My grandma called me at home once to tell me that I need to learn to eat correctly. I got a lecture on how I am supposed to eat a sandwich with a fork and a knife (lol what). I ate my sandwich the same exact way that my cousin did because they always went on about how perfect she was, and I was the one who got a call about needing to learn how to eat properly. Family is so strange sometimes!

Yeah, they really are meant to be displayed. I panick a little on the inside when I unpack stuff to go on display lmao. It stinks though because sometimes stuff is interactive and move when you push a button or something! lol, I could see keeping some stuff packed up just to keep safe from our animal pals :D

I know, she's so cute! I love her shoes too. :D
