The Day of the Doctor!

Today is the Day of the Doctor, the 50th anniversary episode of Dr Who!


I wanted to do a little photoshoot with my Dalek and the ghouls for it. :3





Did someone say something about Bad wolf?

Of course, I was super excited about seeing this! I watched it on it's first showing this morning for it's live global broadcast. I was wibbley so often, and it was very funny, and epic, and just AMAZING. xD

I'm going to put the rest of my feelings under a cut for spoilers because I'm going to put quotes and gifs and things from the episode, but I'm not actually going to go into super detail about stuffs.
But ya'know:


I thought John Hurt's doctor was wonderful! He was so funny interacting with Eleven and Ten. At him getting younger in the future: Am I having a mid-life crisis? looool forever


I was very amused at Ten wearing Eleven's fez. xD

I was surprised that they had Capaldi Doctor in the end too, I mean, it makes sense to have him there but I wasn't expecting it. I do think it's brilliant that they had Capaldi there, because it was just a really emotional moment and having him involved in that sort of brings him closer to my heart before even having him as the Doctor.
And I don't want my raggedy man Eleven to go like AT ALL so that's a good thing.
My reservations have been softened though by Scottie being excited about it and then finding out that Hiddles was also excited about it, I was like OKAY OKAY I'LL GIVE HIM A CHANCE. I mean, I was of course going to keep watching and so that is giving him a chance inherently, but I'll be less grumpy about it. ehehehe n_n'
But having him involved in this softened me up even more so I feel like it was a smart move.


THIS SCENE. OMG. I remember how wibbley I got when he said that at the end of his time, BRINGING IN REMEMBERED FEELS WHEN I WAS ALREADY DROWNING IN FEELS JUST OMGGGGGGG MOFFAT YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL ME

And having Tom Baker there in the end as the Curator? Omg, just, all the feels man. And he fell into character so easily it was amazing.


I thought this bit at the end was just so lovely.

Ok, I'm probably not making THE MOST sense here, but I've been feeling pretty sick (I think I've come down with something) so it's hard for me to get my thoughts together.

It was awesome! I was at the cinema as well. Near the end after the regeneration we had no picture only sound anymore. One guy got out his sonic screwdriver and we applauded. Thankfully then someone from the cinema came and fixed it ;)

idk, there was something off about the whole episode. It seemed like it was trying too hard to be amazing and it just fell flat to me. Even the storyline didn't hold my interest, and I had a hard time believing that the what's it called would take on the form of Rose. It just seemed like an excuse to bring some form of Rose back since so many people loved her. The three doctors together just wasn't working for me, and something was off about ten and it wasn't his hair lol. Plus, there was something off about this entire season and it just continued into the anniversary special.

I also do not like Clara. The way her character is written is extremely unlikable for some reason. I still haven't been able to put my finger on what it is. I liked Clara when she was the dalek and in the Christmas episode, but not when she became a companion. I can't wait until the Doctor gets a new companion XD

I did have so many feels at the 50th! Tennant as the Doctor... needed that so much! I miss him as the Doctor. I'm super excited about 12 though. I find I'm most excited to see what Matt Smith will do next as the only other thing I've seen him in, Womb, was so excellent it made me excited to see what else he could do.

I really liked seeing Tennant again too! Eleven is totally my doctor though and I'm so sad to see him go! I'm going to miss him, and Tennant. All my feels man. T_T

I haven't seen Womb yet, but I should! All I know about his other work is from what Hiddles said about his past work in theatre (which was all positive). I hope that we see him in more things!

I'm super excited that Karen Gillan is in Guardians of the Galaxy! I don't know if you knew about that or was interested, but I love my Who people crossing into my other fandoms. xD

I just saw it five hours ago so I think it all makes perfect sense. One question though:

When did this happen? Last I heard, he was saying how Matt Smith and Tom Baker were Doctor Who to him.

I think it was in the same interview? I'll have to check (which is super hard on me and stuff ehehehe). It might be in a different one though that I listened to/watched in the same time period. xD
He certainly said Matt Smith and Tom Baker were his doctors (which I thought was amazing btw! :D), I think it was a bit later in the interview that he also said that Capaludi was a brilliant actor and he was excited to see what he'd do in the role. :3
