Dr Who musings and a Dr Who themed Monster High photoshoot

So I have been meaning to post my thoughts about Dr Who for a bit! I was way behind on Dr. Who because every summer I go out into the field at the end of May, which is conveniently in the middle of the season for the show. Well, I hadn't actually gotten caught up after that yet. I'd gotten caught up to "A Good Man Goes to War", but not past that by last weekend's season opener. So last Saturday I spent much of the day getting caught up.

I was feeling all the feels about Amy and Rory's exit from the show! I loved those two. n_n They remind me of me and Scottie. I think they did a good job with it though, because if they were set on new companions, Amy and Rory wouldn't have otherwise left and Eleven wouldn't have left them. Even when they all thought about it and all felt like it was the thing they should do. It just wouldn't have happened. Even though they were were split apart, I think the ending was relatively happy.

I was all grumpy about a new companion, but Clara is just so frackin adorable. She reminds me a bit of a character out of a book series I was listening to this past summer, where the girl keeps dying and being reincarnated, and there is an immortal angel boy who keeps finding her. (The series starts with Fallen, and the series is like Twilight with angels. I know, I know, but I was entertained while out at Pilot listening to it heh). It's not the same, but it's what I was reminded of. I'm curious what she's going to be about.

Plus, adorable! Gah.

Anyway, to celebrate the Dr. Who season starting up, I'd wanted to take some pictures with my dolls and the stuffed Dalek Scottie sent me as a surprise gift while I was at Pilot last. (He said I could use it to EXTERMINATE all the things that made me mad out there, hehe)


I really love the Scaris Ghoulia, she's so gorgeous!


I wish I'd had better lighting for this shot. I love her glasses but I really love her face paint too. :3

That book series...is that the...*thinks* Angel series - I can't remember what they're called now. Friend of mine has them, I have read most of them, save for the last one.

It's Fallen. n_n I read the whole series because it seemed interesting, though I'm not a religious person so I'd been a bit hesitant to read them in case it got preachy. I was glad that even though it was about angels it didn't seem to do that, so I did enjoy them. :3

Thats it...not a bad bunch of books really. I'm not religious either...I do like books that can do that, touch on the fantasy aspect of religion without telling me I'm going to burn for all eternity in hell *lol*

I thought about reading the series, but it just sounded too much like Twilight to me, LOL, so I haven't touched it so far.

lol! Well, it's definitely like Twilight so if you didn't like that series you probably won't like this one. I was like "She just needs to turn around and say "I know what you are... Angel!". It did move away from that feel later on, the second book was like a merge of Twilight and Harry Potter, and then it really went off in it's own direction after that. But it always had a Twilighty flavor. n_n

I think there is a squishy TARDIS out there also. In case your dolls feel like travelling to another universe.

If you squish it though it will tell you that you would make a good Dalek or will shout EXTERMINATE! Though it's probably still not very intimidating. xD

By the time Rory and Amy left I was ready for them to move on. Amy especially. Not sure why but the longer she was on the show the less I liked her. I didn't dislike her but she's not one of my favourites. That said I thought the Rory and Amy exit was really well done. Their characters had a proper ending.

But so far I really like Clara. I wasn't sure if I was falling out of love with Doctor Who in the early half of this season but it appears that nope, I just needed a new companion.

I loved Rory and Amy, but I always ended up watching them in big chunks. It might have influenced how I felt about them? I think they did a good job with the exit too. It was very final but in a good way.

I really love Clara though! I'm glad that she's making the show more entertaining for you. :D

Sometimes shows work better all at once rather than week to week. I did watch most of the current Who in blocks and 11 was the first Doctor for me where I was all caught up so I've been watching one at a time.

... I just can't wait to watch them all though lol!
