Ok, so I was looking up something on google. I know that tcg cards are hard to sell. I was trying to figure out if buying a card at 99,999 nps from the wiz would be worth it. It's the only one in shops and the rest of them are on the trading post for 500k, though there is one at 400k. Now, 300k profit at least, whoot! Right? But if it is so hts that it is impossible to sell... then I could have wasted about 100k. :/
(btw, if anyone has any advice on that, that would be cool).
Anyway, while I was googling to see exactly how hard it would be to sell, I found a thread in a forum from someone saying 'plz buy my random tcg' and so I thought "well, I'll see how this goes over". The group was telling them if they wanted to sell it off fast they should just put it in their shop for 99,999 and make a trade saying 'ong, ____ tgc in my shop for 99,999 nps!!!111!11 :o' Turns out the one that they were wanting to sell was like 25k. But the point is that I could be sitting on it forever. It's rarity 103, so it's not like it's going to be used up in quests for Jhudora or something.
So even with such a good potential, I'm leaning towards no, because of the potential of nobody wanting it.
The thing that makes me steamed though is after I read the topic, I thought I might see what other stuff was in the forum. ... It's all about cheats, autobuyers, auto-score senders, etc. Topics like 'is it safe to autobuy on my main', 'pwning the ISP ban', 'I've been autobuying in the magic and weapons shop daily, anyone else?', and other similar shit. From that site you can download autobuyers, auto score senders, etc. You can even pay for premium with them and get more fancy programs or something. (It said all this stuff above the topics, which is why I saw them.)
It just pisses me off! It's these morons that make it impossible for anyone honest to get anything worth it these shops. The rare stuff doesn't stock that much, and when it does someone with an autobuyer scoops it up and then the honest player would have to shell out a boatload of nps to the cheat to get what they want/need.
Plus these auto-score senders make it impossible to get any trophies on games. I'd like a trophy, just once even! And there isn't even a point to those! Once they get enough points to get to 1000 nps, wouldn't that be good enough? I'd like to think that some of the people with the super high scores actually played to that point, but then, it's kinda hard to believe.
I realize this has been going on for a long time, but normally I can just ignore it. But when I end up in a forum full of them, it really pisses me off. -_-
Anyway, rant aside, what would any of my fellow neopets players do about the tcg?

But maybe it was necessary, and that sucks.

Date: 2007-12-11 06:37 am (UTC)From:While I thought it might be a bad idea, I talked to Scottie about it when he got home. While it might be hard to sell, I could sit on it for a while. If I could get someone to bite, that would be awesome. If it seems like nobody will ever buy it, I can stick it in my shop for the 99,999 nps and it should sell. I can afford the price for the time being and on the chance that it would pay off... so it's worth a shot anyway. I do have the patience of a saint apparently, so maybe it'll pay off. If not, I should at least hopefully get the nps I paid for it back.
Yeah, I hate that people like that ruin the games for everyone. Normally I don't think about it, because all it does is make me grumpy and I like to play neopets. So I don't restock those high demand shops and I don't ever think I could get a trophy on a flash game. If I did think that sort of stuff, I'd just get frustrated and that wouldn't get me anywhere anyway. Oh well.
