Sculpting challenge: Day 61!
Oct. 29th, 2012 12:22 amSo tonight I continued on my siamese cat sculpt! First I sculpted the hindquarters and attached them to to body. Then I figured out the positioning of the back leg/feet and put those onto the sculpt. Then I sculpted the neck further, repositioned the head to work better with the pose, gave the tail armature more support and sculpted clay onto it (tails are surprisingly finicky!). Then I decided that even though I already had finished and baked front legs... they were a touch too big for my taste. So I made a new front leg armature, re-sculpted the legs, textured and baked them. I needed extra clay, especially since I was re-sculpting the the front legs legs I needed to mix up some new clay. It's a bit lighter than my original mix but since I'm planning on painting it I think that's fine. I also prepared the pieces that will be the cat's shoulders after I attach the new legs.
So tomorrow I will need to attach the front legs, sculpt the shoulders, attach the tail, do any touch-ups, and texture everything. Hopefully I have enough time to do everything and bake it! I am so excited by coming to the end of this phase of my sculpting challenge!
( Picture of the cat sculpt so far! )
I'm wondering if I should go to the painting stage of all of my animal figures first or if I should start the human figures.
