So today me and Scottie took the fuzzies to the library park today. We took them in their carrier first to go to Petco to exchange one of the harnesses we originally bought. The fancier looking one was too big on it's smallest size so we couldn't use it. Gwin isn't tiny and he could wiggle out of it without too much trouble. He also appears to be full grown so he isn't going to magically fit into it later. Chaos has plumped up considerably since we got him, but he's still scrawny and he's not full grown so that harness wasn't going to be any good for him either!

Then we took them to the park with their harnesses. We walked them around where we flew kites last spring. It was nice! They took to the walk better than expected, especially considering our dry runs in the house. It makes sense that they'd be less bothered by the harnesses in a new, novel environment instead of in the house where they just want to go play like normal and the harnesses would just be holding them back for what to them would seem like no good reason.

There was a lot of exploring, and they were really interested in digging in the snow. There were a few patches of snow left, most of it has melted in that area (there's still a lot of it left next to our apartment though!). They both wanted to explore the nearby mud but we kept them out of that. Eventually digging around in the snow was too chilly so Chaos climbed into the sleeve of Scottie's flannel. It was really amusing when he stuck his head out of the buttoned part! After he'd spent his energy he then alternated between curling up in Scottie's arms taking a ride, and wiggling to go down for a 2 second walk ending in him climbing up his leg to get another ride.

Gwin decided that he wanted to also warm up in my jacket at the time that Chaos was in Scottie's sleeve. He climbed into the side of my zippered hoodie and tried to find a spot in my back. Not that trying to keep him from falling out of the back of my unzipped hoodie was awkward or anything. lol I eventually got him out of the back of my jacket and put him in my pocket. Luckily that hoodie has some sizable pockets! He spent the rest of the time digging in my pocket or sticking his head out to watch as we walked.

It was really nice! We'll have to do that again. They seemed pretty tuckered out when we got home, which is good.

Oh, and as a side note, Gwin is not a female as we'd originally thought. The guy that we got the ferrets from said that he had one male and one female ferret. We'd gotten a better look at Chaos and he looked like a boy, so we'd just assumed Gwin was a girl. (Also, Gwin was originally named Snowball and Chaos was named Houdini, and the names inferred gender as well.) I hadn't gotten a good look at the ferrets bellies at first, but I was a bit suspicious pretty early on that they were both boys. When I finally got a good look at them I realized that Gwin was a boy. So they're both boys. e_e I really have to wonder about the guy we got the ferrets from.
