Today's question!
If you had the chance - would you move away from Alaska to somewhere warmer?
How many Monster High Dolls do you own and do you think you'd ever give up collecting them? meathiel

But it is so... ehm, glorious... here.
Seriously though... no I am serious I hate Alaska. I've lived all over in it and most of my memories from the elsewhere locations are PTSD related. I currently live in Anchorage but it is just a big city with a view of the mountains in the far off distance. That's not that exciting. The state is conservative and all about oil and fishing interests, so often I don't agree with the people who live in this state. Among other things.
I have lived in more wonderful, more beautiful places than here. I would move out of here yesterday, but I need to figure out where to go. I hear Toronto has lovely sights this time of year *koffs* But London has those lovely sights more often. ehehehe~
Hrm, that came out grumpier than I intended. But those are my feels.
It doesn't have to be necessarily warmer I mean I am a frost giant wut but I would prefer a place that isn't spend half the year in night. xP

How many dolls I have ended up being asked twice, it was in #3. Oops!

This might have been my intial reaction to the question ehehehe
I do want to mention that I have been collecting them since 2011, and dolls are one of my main hobbies. n_n'

But the second part of that question hadn't been asked! If I would stop collecting them.
The answer to that is no! I love them, they are a lot of fun to photograph and they make me happy. I want to make customs too, so that's an additional reason that I won't want to stop.

So there's today's answer!

Tomorrow I am going to see the Winter Soldier with Scottie! We snagged our tickets on Fandango this evening to make sure that we wouldn't have trouble getting them. We're going to a 2D matinee. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to the 3D or not, but I decided that the 2D would be fine, was cheaper, and would allow me to sleep in. lol
Scottie had mentioned for me to check for a Cap marathon like they had with Thor- where they did Thor/Avengers/Thor 3. I mean Cap was in Avengers too. Scottie is such a sweetie, I would have totes gone there to see Loki on the big screen again! xD And he would have sat through another marathon with me with all my flailing fangirling. The Loki marathon w/ Scottie is one of my favourite memories. :3 ehehehe I just fangirl Marvel in general, the... intensity of the fangirling just jumps a lot when Loki is involved. Unfortunetely the marathon was only Cap 1 and Cap 2. So no marathon. The cost of the tickets for just the two movies was higher than we'd like, no Loki, and I have the Cap 1 bluray if I want to watch it again so it just didn't make sense.

I will console myself with this:

It must be tough to live there if half of the year you spend it in darkness x.x I wouldn't be able to live like that, though I'm certain I don't want to live like this in Buenos Aires either! Even though I do feel the cold and need to wear tons of layers, I love freezing to death (does that even make sense? XD). Dunno, a cold nose and shivering body is... a nice feeling to me? LOL.

I always thought it would be weird to spend half the year in dusk/dark. At the same time, if that's all you've ever known it's not that weird lol. I've heard it's really nice in Toronto too. I know a lot of people who have gone to Hawaiian and want to move their ASAP. I've also heard that it's really nice in Oregon.

Spoken like a true collector! I would imagine that it would be hard to give up collecting something. I could see not adding to the collection on and off at some point, but giving up on it is a whole other story!

Yeah ... I hadn't thought about the darkness thing ... but in summer it probably doesn't get dark at all, does it???

Oh, the dark half of the year is awful on me. I often say that I'm a plant, and the lack of sun does me absolutely no good mentally!

I can handle being cold, for some instances it can even be a good thing! But it gets colder than I prefer here. I don't like terribly hot areas (unless I have easy access to large body of water and the time to swim in it... but that's less interest in the hot weather and more interest in spending a lot of time in cold water lol), and Scottie certainly doesn't, so I'd just like something a bit more moderate.

It is very weird. I've only lived in Alaska for the past 5 or 6 years, so it's not a 'all you've ever known' kind of thing for me.
I was sort of joking about Toronto there (Hiddles is there filming atm), but we've actually talked about moving to Toronto before that. xD
For some reason I know a lot of Hawaiians who have moved up here to Alaska from Hawaii. lol I also know a lot of Alaskans who frequently vacation in Hawaii and want to move there. xD
I like Oregon from what I've seen of it. We did a huge road trip before we were married and that's one of the many states we went through. Scottie and I have talked about moving there too.
Though I keep saying that I have a couple years to get us out of the US entirely. I've never wanted to stay in the US. :P

I could certainly see not adding to, or at least slowing down on, collecting (I've gone on collecting hiatuses I suppose)- but I can't imagine entirely stopping or getting rid of them. n_n

It doesn't! I love it, but Scottie hates it. lol It makes it really hard for him to sleep. I don't have a problem with it, but then I have massive insomnia so I might not be the best judge. xD We also both miss summer nights though. I'd rather live somewhere again that is more normal.

(I probably should have noted in this entry that neither of us are from Alaska, we only moved here a few years ago.)

Oh wow, I just noticed that my spell check changed Hawaii to Hawaiians lol.

Oh yeah, I know a lot of people from Hawaii vacation a lot in Vegas and/or end up moving there. I've never been to Vegas but I've got some cousins who do and everyone like THIS FREAKING WEATHER lol. OMG yeah it seems like everyone who goes to Hawaii either loves or hates it, mostly love though, and are like I WILL MOVE THERE. My mom used to live there years and years ago and wants to move back.

That road trip sounds like fun! I've never been anywhere(er unless you count when I went to Catalina which is still in CA lol), so I'm like TELL ME ALL OF YOUR TRAVELING STORIES.

Yeah, I don't know anyone who has gotten rid of their collections even if they haven't added to it in years. I have heard of people who collect things because they think it'll be worth something in years only to discover that it's worth nothing when they want to sell it off. I've heard a lot of people complain about that with beanie babies lol.

Not of my Monster Highs, no. n_n' I need to get some supplies- one of them being MSC spray that I need to get online, and a proper place/way to use my airbrush.

I did customizing of Barbies back when I was a teen though. :3
