Tonight I continued on with the pony sculpt! I sculpted on the ears and did a little more face shaping. I added nostrils and a mouth. I got the wire placement to attach the head. I smoothed out the body and did a little more shaping. Now really all I have left is to attach the legs, do a little bit of shoulder and hindquarter sculpting, and then it's ready to bake! (Assuming I decide to go with non-clay hair of course). I almost decided to go for it and finish, but I really didn't feel like I'd have enough time. I could have sculpted the leg areas but I really would rather bake it immediately after, so I decided to wait.
Here's a couple of progress pics presided over by the lovely Frankie. hehe

Here is our pallet garden! Scottie found a pallet to use, then he sanded the sides a bit, attached legs, nailed gardening cloth into it, put in the dirt, and planted our seeds! I helped with the planting. n_n We have a tiny deck attached to our apartment and we decided a garden would be nice. It has herbs and some leafy greens in it. I hope they grow well!

Grow little plants! I hear you sleeping in there!

In other news, I had some major plotbunnies the last couple of weeks and was writing a story during breaks at work. I was going to write in google drive, but the new blocker at work blocks google drive. -_- Sooo I was writing in a less safe place. I was planning on putting it somewhere else today actually because I was getting nervous that I didn't have a backup and there was starting to be a lot of stuff there. But early this morning I had a plotbunny that I wanted to jot down really quick because I didn't want to forget it and I didn't have time. In my rush I ended up forgetting to disable a program I have running to help with work, allowing me to select the entire block of text and replace it with the letters nt. And then it immediately autosaved and my entire story now consists of the letters nt.
I was really excited about this story but now I've lost so much. I was kicking myself soooo hard after that, especially since I was PLANNING ON BACKING IT UP TODAY aaaaa. :/

Sorry about your writing. So frustrating. I've had that happen to me before, but only with LJ posts.

Date: 2013-06-13 05:28 pm (UTC)From:I hope so too! We're a little concerned that our side of the building is too shady, but when we had the garden built we saw it got more direct sun in the evening than we thought. They might grow a bit slower but I do think they should grow. :)
I've had that happen before with LJ posts too, which is also frustrating! I tend to just write a brief entry instead or not at all because I really don't like repeating myself. I can't really do that with the story if I'm going to do it though! I just have to suck it up and write it all over again. :P

Date: 2013-06-13 04:55 pm (UTC)From:There are other dolls that I like but I only have so much space! I have one Disney Mulan doll (on a Liv body). I'd probably collect more Disney dolls with infinite space and money. xD I have a small stash of regular barbies that I'm going to practice face-ups on when I have the proper supplies (mostly just missing MSC).
Growing up I collected porcelain dolls! My most prized Christmas presents were one Ashton Drake doll a year starting in 5th grade. lol I still have them technically, but they're all thousands of miles away with my mother.

Oh - porcelain dolls - lovely. Could you play with them though?

Date: 2013-06-14 04:56 pm (UTC)From:I want to do custom Monster Highs, but I want to practice on regular barbies (thrift store/garage sale finds) first because the material isn't what I'm used to working with. I actually did some custom barbies in high school, though now I'm a lot more knowledgeable about techniques and supplies and I'm excited to see what I can really do. :3
Porcelain dolls aren't for play really, I suppose I could take pictures of them in different settings but otherwise they're pretty static.
As a kid I was always really careful with my toys so my family was ok with getting me dolls like that when I was young. My grandma gave me a glass cabinet to put all my dolls on display in. My very first porcelain doll got taken around with me for a while, but I treated it very carefully and the only thing that got a bit worn was the little pillow it came with. lol

Yes, I had lots of those dolls you couldn't play with .. they sat in a glass cabinet too.
