So... today I finished the bluebird sculpt! I finished feathering the entire body, then attached the legs and attached the feet. The prebaked feet did not want to play nice when I attached them, but I finally did do it. Then I baked it for an hour!
It definitely needs painting, especially since I used prebaked white eyeballs instead of black since I already had a pair of those handy when I needed them. Right now it's kind of a zombie bird, lol.
Scottie is super excited about his anniversary present sculpt! After it had cooled for a while I had him hold it. He said it was warm like a real bird, only it wouldn't bite or poo on you. hehe
I'm really happy with how it turned out! My next sculpt is a Siamese cat! I'm excited to start on it, especially since it's the last sculpt in this phase of my challenge! Next I'm going to start on human figures, though I might take a break from the sculpting itself to finally get all of my animal sculpts painted. This is really exciting though! If I finish the cat by the end of November (and I should), then I will have finished the challenge within a year. I'd decided to start on this challenge during Nanowrimo last year, when I realized that I was itching to sculpt but didn't really want to write like I'd done the previous year.
I also went and took a couple of pictures of Howleen outside today since there was actually sun! I hadn't mentioned it in my journal yet, but she finally came in! It was kind of a miracle though that everything in the package made it to me because the bubble mailer had a long split down the side. Howleen and Clawdeen were both big enough that they wouldn't fall out, but I'm amazed that Howleen's pet stayed inside the package since it was loose!
Anyway, I took a couple of pics with her today. I'd really been hoping to get some pics with some nice fall leaves, but by the time I went out the sun was already getting low and I realized most of the leaves have already fallen. xP Thanks to the windstorms early in fall we didn't really have a lot of nice fall foliage. Still I took at least a couple of pictures. :3 I'll post those up soon, after I post my early snowfall doll pics though. n_n'
