Happy New Year
Dec. 31st, 2011 11:12 pmSo I went and saw the New Years Eve fireworks at the Anchorage Fire and Ice festival! That was rather nice. They had fire twirlers/dancers/jugglers at the event leading up to the fireworks. That was really neat. There were also ice sculptures and Christmas trees lit up everywhere. There was also "live" music. The performer was covering Michael Jackson, and he looked and danced like him. He was just lip syncing to MJ music piped out of speakers, but it was still fun. He did an awesome dance number to Thriller with a high school dance group as a finale.
The person that was announcing the event/speaking for the radio thanked us all for coming out in the 1 degree F weather, lol. It was a bit chilly, but I made sure that we bundled up before we left so we were relatively alright. I think Scottie was actually more chilled than I was, which is surprising.
More personal fireworks than usual tonight around the apartment building. I think it's in defiance of the law that was just passed basically disallowing any fireworks being set off within city limits. Luckily even though the fireworks are going off regularly, my bird is sleeping. Before that she was grooming. She is completely oblivious. lol
