So I didn't get to start the dog today, but I predicted that would be the case. I spent the first half of the day working on getting things rolling to pull funds out of my retirement fund. It'll get us through until my job at the office starts. I know, not the best solution, but there it is. That was pretty stressful though.
But I digress! I did finish the bear today! All that's left is baking. I finished sculpting the legs and I really like how it turned out. It really needed the final sculpting, and that took a while. I also always underestimate how long it will take to sculpt fur, lol. Realistically I wasn't going to be starting the dog until tomorrow anyway, lol. I won't be baking it until tomorrow because it's late and the bake time should be about 2 hours. I don't really think staying up that long is a good idea. heh :P I'm not entirely certain that the bear is going to fit in my craft-dedicated toaster oven though. I might have to put it in the regular oven. Which I can do, I just need to wipe the stove down after I do it. (Supposedly anyway. Hazards of being/living with an artist I suppose!)
So the baking will happen tomorrow, and then I will start on the dog!
I also started playing a game with Scottie while the bear was chilling between fur sculpts. It's a book we got called Fantasy Genisis: A Creativity Game for Fantasy Artists. It's like art and D&D, which is awesome for us! Basically you print off some sheets provided in the book, roll dice to get different attributes for the different slots, then take those things to make a creature or item. It's a really neat way to get creative juices flowing, and to get rid of art blocks. I'm excited to try this! I started a sheet already and am thinking on the ideas presented, though I haven't had a chance to actually draw anything yet. I ended up with molluscs and sea life in my inspiration list which has me pretty excited! I have something of an idea of what I want to do, but it's not solid just yet.
