Sound problems
Jun. 4th, 2008 11:13 amI posted this to the community ibook, but I thought I'd post it here too in case anyone on my f-list has insight. n.n;
Hey, there is a question that has been bothering me for a while now. I bought a 12" iBook back in the spring of 2006. It is running Tiger v 10.4.11, has 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4, 1 GB DDR SDRAM. I update it frequently. I don't have S.M.A.R.T., but I do run disk utility and things are good according to that. I also use MacJanitor to clean it up from time to time. Since about mid-winter I've been using a chillmat.
My problem however started about a year or so ago. Every now and then the computer's sound cuts out. The first time it happened the sound stayed off (with volume at max and not on mute) for a few days. Then it came back. It doesn't happen super frequently, and now usually I can get it to come back by playing with the volume. I was listening to iTunes earlier today and the sound was ranging from soft to normal without actually cutting out completely. Is this something ominous?
Also, recently I have been unable to wake my computer from sleep by touching the trackpad, I have to press a button. I don't think that I changed a preference, but I might have I suppose.
