Sculpting challenge, Day 150! Also, kite flying. :3

I did do sculpting today, just not as much as I would have wanted. I felt really sick for a lot of the morning so I started late. The headache was brought to something managable by excedrin so I could function. :P

I finished tweaking the legs, then I wrote my signature into one of the back legs. I baked them and they turned out just fine. :3


After that, I sculpted the ears. I was going to attach them, but I stopped to have dinner. After dinner I returned to the table to find two ears on the table and no head. With a sinking feeling, I started looking around on the floor. I then found the head on the floor nearish to the table, all dirty and covered with tooth and claw marks. I was not happy with the kitty. DX

I cleaned off all of the fuzz, fixed all the claw, tooth, and other assorted marks. I have no idea how he managed to get the head so dirty so quickly, but I guess it's small and clay is pretty much a magnet for dirt. I never got the ears on, but what I did end up refining the head sculpt a bit since I was working on it. I'm still annoyed with the cat, but I'm going to look on the bright side and say that the sculpt turned out better for it. I was going to refine it anyway, but this made sure I spent a lot of time poking at the entire thing? At least he didn't do any major damage to it. I know he's just being a cat but argh. :P

In other news, I was feeling good enough this evening that when we saw that the sun was finally out and that it was windy that we would go fly our kite at the park! We've been meaning to do it for a while, but the best place to do it is at the park behind the library, and that whole place was taken up by a carnival for pretty much all of June. So we tried to fly it elsewhere but we just couldn't get good wind. But we did today! It was really nice. After we flew the kite, we went and looked at the duck pond. The goslings and ducklings have grown so much! But they're still little and totally cute. I was kicking myself for not bringing a camera. Next time!

Btw, yesterday I remembered you because I saw at the fair a brand new Operetta *---*. Unfortunately it was really expensive because they were directly shipped from the USA to Argentina, like 70 dollars which is a lot for me T_T.

pinkie pie? and aw bad kitty. sigh cats. lol glad your feeling better. I woke up yesterday with a migraine and Melissa went to bed with one the night before. I told her she passed it to me, lol. oh! I saw a dance class operetta the other day she was cute and i saw an abby with her pet i wish I hadn't been told I'm not allowed to buy new monsters until after my birthday :( she was totally cute. Also, I've seen the scaris duece in walmart a few times...though his travel bag kinda looks like a purse.

Aw, people think of me when they see Monster High! :D That's exciting that you saw a new Operetta, but it's awful that she cost so much! D: They cost a lot less than that here, it seems like it would be cheaper for like me to pick one up for you to send to you. I know that international fans often buy that way!

Actually, the husband of the woman my mom works for travels to the USA a lot due to work and he has bought me a tablet before, so I could totally ask him to bring me some of them. But mom is quitting her job soon so I think it won't be possible XD.

Maybe one day I can order through ebay or something like that? >_<;;;

Not all the prices on ebay are bad, as long as you don't try going for rare dolls or brand new dolls. I actually got my first doll off of ebay as a really good deal, and all of my Sweet 1600 dolls were from an ebay lot which was also decently priced. :3 The ebay rants about scalpers are usually about people who are snagging all of the new dolls out of the store and then charging an insane premium for them. :P But that becomes less of an issue usually once they've been out for a while and the supply goes up. You'll still end up paying more than retail usually, but at least I can see charging a bit more so sellers aren't losing money on ebay fees.

Dance class Operetta is really cute! I've seen her a couple of times but I'm never able to pick her up. :( Scottie's favorite doll is Operetta so we have a couple of her as his dolls. I want to get him DC because she's so appropriate, we're both into swing dancing and Scottie was the VP of the swing dance club at our university (which was a really big club actually!)

I've seen Scaris Duece a couple of times too and I haven't been able to pick him up either. It turned out to not be so bad though since I found that garage sale Duece for cheap.

Did your Duece come in from that one site?

When is your birthday? I hope it's soon so you can end your doll drought! hehe

I was so annoyed at the time, but I couldn't be mad at him for just doing what cats do. I could kick myself for not storing it more safely instead of thinking "I won't be gone very long and he's never shown interest in this stuff before, it should be fine." lol

It never hurts to look on the bright side of things though, and I do think it's better now than before. :3

Yes, deuce came in, his luggage looks like a purse though lol. My birthday is the 28th. :) my friend Ellie who i got into monsters, loves operetta too she wants the one that comes with her pet. I totally want to get sir hoots alot and the clothes for ghoulia since that one in particular i can't find. But I've seen the clothes and owl separate. Now i need the other boys so they're with their girl friends. Lol
