Grumble grumble
Apr. 13th, 2013 12:25 amSo yesterday I finished sculpting the fingers for my male figure. I put them in the oven, and less than 3 minutes later I'd pulled them out because they were burning. I haven't burned anything in ages. I realize fingers are delicate but I've baked lots of things things just as delicate with no problems. Maybe the temperature gauge got bumped and I didn't notice? The fact that they went from raw clay to smoking burned was a rather fast escalation. So I have to redo those, which was annoying because they were a pain to do the first time. :P
Other annoying news, our internet seems to be mostly out. We're getting 50% and up packet loss in the connection, so most of the time it's not working. Scottie and I both wanted to do things online and it wasn't really working. We called our internet provider who said everything looked peachy on their end, so it was probably something wrong with our modem. He said we'd have to bring ours in to a store to switch it out of that was the case, but of course this was after the stores had closed. Scottie is going to be so annoyed if there isn't actually something wrong with the modem and the problem is actually something else.
I decided to go on Windows and play Skyrim since I was too frustrated to sculpt and I've been wanting to play Skyrim. First off, Steam tells me that the internet isn't working and it can't connect. To which I say, I know, so play offline. I click the button saying I want to go offline. It then tells me that it can't connect, and to go online to this handy webpage to figure out what's wrong. How exactly am I supposed to go online to figure out why I can't go online again? And why do I have to go online to tell it I want to play offline? e_e I normally have it in offline mode, I'd just updated it recently and hadn't switched it back.
I also have a program that lets me use a PS3 controller on my computer. Apparently that won't work at all without an internet connection. e_e Whhhhhy?
Anyway, I finally got connected so I could tell Steam to go offline, and then I started a new game since I haven't played in so long. After sitting through the opening movie... it crashed at the character creation screen. It had crashed there the other night when I'd tried to play it, and that's the reason I'd updated everything to begin with. I'm assuming there's an issue with one of my mods, but I am too tired to figure out where the problem is.
So all I've successfully done with Skyrim tonight is install the SKCE stuff I'd downloaded a few nights ago, only to get told again that Silverlock was out of date (wtf the thing I downloaded should have been up to date?), have the game start up anyway for some reason, and have it crash in the same way that it did before I updated anything.
Anyway, I'm annoyed. Probably not making much sense because I'm currently about to pass out. So tired. Time to see if this will post!
