Today I had a shotgun training class. I signed up for this a couple of months ago, I think it seemed like a better idea at the time. I was less certain about it when I realized the time for it had come up already, lol. xP
Pro- I am now certified in Remington 12 gauge shotguns by Fish & Game, and I now have a better idea of how to load and shoot the guns, as well as knowing how to clean them.
Also a pro, I learned why I'm such a bad shot when shooting at Pilot for practice. I am too small to use a standard shotgun, first off. I need a shorter stock, because when I checked to see if it's too big, it wasn't just a little off, it was way off. So it's really hard for me to handle the standard size gun effectively.
I also learned that I am right handed and left eye dominant. That would explain why I can't aim for beans. To compensate for this non-standard arrangement I can either learn to shoot left handed or close my left eye so my right eye will focus. Unfortunately my left eye is probably dominant because it has very good vision... my right eye has ridiculously poor vision. I can see perfectly if I close my right eye, I see a blurry blob if I close my left eye. lol So I got to learn to shoot left handed. It's really awkward. But I can hit the target left handed. I didn't even hit the target shooting right handed!
Cons- ZOMG MY SHOULDERS ARE KILLING ME. I shot two lethal rounds right handed so that's a bit sore. But I shot 48 rounds left handed (tactical and lethal, but both have recoil!), and argh! Every time I shot while sitting I was being knocked back in my chair (sitting was the worst because I was too short for the table so it was really awkward, and I couldn't brace for impact very well). The instructor felt bad because he didn't have an appropriately sized gun for me to use so it was hart to seat. I was also having a problem seating the gun in my shoulder because trying to learn to shoot left handed was also awkward.
I'm just going to go curl up with this pile of ibruprofen now. xP
This evening was nice though. I cuddled with Scottie and we watched the 5th season of The Guild which was awesome. :D <3 Felicia Day! Then I had a ferret nap in my arms for quite a while, which was totally adorbs.
