Sculpting challenge: Day 34!

So today I did finish the deer sculpt! I actually did more on the face sculpt. I worked on the eyes, and a lot on the snout. I actually re-sculpted the snout entirely, I did like it but after I redid it I am sooo much happier with it!

Then I attached the legs, and sculpted the thighs and shoulders. Then I sculpted on the tail. After that I furred the rest and she was ready to bake!

Unfortunately, during the standing part of the bake one of the back legs split and the deer fell over. It was standing for 18 minutes of the 20 it was supposed to be baking, so I just put in the extra cushioning and repositioned for the laying bake. I don't know how bad the damage on that back leg will be until after it's actually done baking though. I didn't see anything else that happened from the fall. I hope it's ok, and I hope that I can fix that leg somehow once it's done!

I actually really liked this fawn too, so I'm bummed that it's the first thing that's broken during this challenge. But it is the most fragile thing I've sculpted so far so I can't say it's surprising.

I am glad that I put this off until the weekend though! I wouldn't have had the time to do all of this during the week with work.
