Issuing myself a sculpting challenge!

So I just got a couple of sculpting books in the mail, and I have decided that I am going to sculpt my way through all of the projects in them. I'm not sure how long each will take me to do, but I want to do them in sort of a Julie/Julia style, so as fast as is reasonable. A project a day seems a bit unreasonable, so perhaps a project a week? I'll have to see once I've started the projects to see how fast I can make them.

The first book is Creating Lifelike Animals in Polymer Clay, and the second is Creating Lifelike Figures in Polymer Clay, both by Katherine Dewey.

First off I need to make the tools. I don't know how long they will take to make, so I'm thinking that will be the goal for Day One. Unless I can't find all the materials, it shouldn't take more than one day to do. Day One, go!

I'm going to do photos of my progress too. :3

(I'll finish NaNo some other time, I'm not feeling inspired to write but I am feeling inspired to sculpt!)

Sculpting challenge update: Day One.

So after talking to Scottie, I probably won't be able to finish the tools all today. Mostly because I need to do sculpting on the tools themselves, and they need to be baked a couple of times. I just flopped down on the couch for a bit after doing some housecleaning before I start. Good thing I planned on the possibility of not finishing the tools until tomorrow because it'd be really tight otherwise!

I did want to clean some of the clutter from around the place, partly because I need to find the bits that Scottie bought to make the tools earlier!
