milleniumgypsy: (balloons)

Well, today was good. Not all of the stuff at work was entirely shiny, but I won't dwell on that stuff. hehe

On the way back to work from lunch I saw a fox. It was running up the hill from the lake, well, more like trotting along. It was scaring up small birds as it went, probably swallows. It ran along behind me, so very close, and ran into the lawn of the registration building. Then it ran across into the bush. I love foxes! They are so cute. That one seemed a bit thin though. You'd think with all these whistle pigs (ground squirrels), squirrels, chipmunks, and the like it'd have plenty to eat. Maybe it's not as thin as it seems to be to me.

After work me and Scottie went to Jackson. By accident we discovered that the county fair was this weekend. We found it by trying to take a shortcut to the library and finding the road blocked off because of the fair. The last time I was at a fair was when I was in Houghton, and I love the fair. So after we went the the library and out to dinner we went back to the fair. First off we checked out the animals, nothing too exciting but many cute bunnies and such.

We rode on one ride that was like Tatsu from Six Flags and the Paratrooper from the Houghton county fair. That was very cool to me! Then we went on the ring of fire, went thru the house of mirrors (it ended up being kinda lame but it was worth a shot), Scottie went on the Starship (which is the Gravatron back in Houghton). I didn't want to go on that because last time I went on it it made me get a headache and feel rather blah. I've ridden it many times before, so I don't feel like I'm missing out. Scottie however had never ridden on it before so he wanted to try it. I waited outside for him.

After he rode that he played a ball game to win me a prize. He won me one of the medium large prizes. I picked a purple care bear with the heart and star connected by a rainbow on the belly. I think it's Friend Bear? I call it the gay pride bear. hehe

Anyway, the guy wanted to talk Scottie into playing to get me the bigger sized bear because he couldn't find any of them in the back. I just thought he wanted to get more money (which I'm sure is part of it!) and I don't really -need- a bigger stuffed animal. I'm more for smaller things now that I don't need stuffed animals to huggle on because I have Scottie all the time. :) So I got Scottie to not play further and so he gave me one of the bears off the wall.

Now, I think it's cute and it's super shiny that Scottie won me it, but it's stuffed with bear shaped foam! It's an official product, but it's not a huggable bear so much. Scottie thinks that it might actually be just a display model, not something that is really supposed to be given out. Why else would it be filled with what feels like styrofoam? lol I'm thinking that I might open up it's back and pull out all the foam and restuff it. The outside is normal, soft and such.

Still, I think it is shiny. :D

After that we took a ride on the ferris wheel. While we were waiting for the ride I was snuggling on Scottie and enjoying the lights. The one complaint that I had about the ferris wheel itself is that it is set up so that there are 2 sides. If there are 4 people going into the car, then two couples can cuddle together. But if there is only one pair going in you can't sit together or the cart tilts too much to that side. Oh well, it was still nice. After that we left the fair.

It was really cool to be riding rides though while it was dark. Rides at night were always a special treat when I was still going with my family. We would get wristbands to ride from 11 to 5, but then after that we couldn't ride anymore. But we would get tickets for one ride each at night. I -love- the fair at night, all the lights are so pretty. So we went later in the day and there weren't any wristbands -anyway-, so all rides were nighttime rides. Scottie says such simple things make me happy (but it's true!).

Now, the tickets aren't super cheap (they had wristbands but not today!) and the bear isn't exactly super cheap either, but we didn't have to pay to get in (maybe because it was too late in the day to bother charging? I dunno.

But a shiny day, and it is only our Friday! (It's so weird for our Friday to actually -be- Friday!) Having days like this at the beginning of our weekend make the rest of the weekend seem longer, because it feels like today should be Saturday.

Just a question, I'm using the new version of Journlr, and it seems to be posting odd things to my journal (like font and text stuffs are weird.)  I don't mean for it to do it, I am currently too tired to try and fix it.  If my last entry or this one messes up your friends page, let me know!
