Assorted things
Aug. 21st, 2005 11:54 pmWell, I found out a few days ago why I'm not on schedule. I talked to Allan, one of my coworkers, and asked if he thought I was going too slow. He said that I wasn't doing bad and that everyone starts off slow. And that I wasn't slow. Also that was a day I was working 4-10, and he said that I couldn't be doing too bad to have that shift considering no training happens on that shift, and that there was only 2 people (me and him) on shift. If someone doesn't know what they're doing, there definetely is going to be more people than just 2 on shift. Three at least, and even at times 4 during training.
He said that the last day that I am scheduled for (tomorrow) I am on shift with the manager (Billie) and then my performance will be appraised. Subway has a 2 week trial/training period. If you have it by the end of the 2 weeks, then you get put back on schedule. That's just how it is. So, that's that. Tomorrow I get to see if I'm qualified to sling subs. :P lol Whoo... I just hope that I don't get scheduled much this coming week (assuming I 'pass'). Mostly not after Thursday anyway. Carrie is off with her family on vacation in Duluth until Thursday (surprise vacation! She wasn't expecting it lol.) so I won't be able to hang out with her when she's not here anyway. She's leaving on Saturday, which kind of sucks because I'm supposed to be at the fair with my family that day, so I don't think I'll be able to say goodbye on Saturday.
At the moment, we're not sure if we'll be able to go camping.
I don't know when Scottie is getting back exactly. So I can't really plan anything about that yet... (btw, Scottie will be home soon! *hops*)
I just thought of something random. I was flipping thru one of my mom's magizines 'Taste of Home'. I saw a section for reader letters and right in the center of the page was a toddler with a cabbage leaf on his head. The mother (or grandmother, dunno) said that she was making cabbage rolls and the sprog took the outer leaf she discarded and put it on his head. She thought it was cute, and called him a cabbage patch kid.
It looked like a baby klingon. haha Cabbage patch kid isn't what sprung to mind for me. lol
Well, a klingon if they came in green. But that's not my point.
I found the resemblance to a klingon funny. It wasn't cute though...
I quickly grew bored of the magizine and found a national geographic to read instead. lol
I worked today, obviously. It wasn't incredebly busy tonight, but just busy enough. And there was a lot of stuff to get done. I started and worked with Dawn and Christina. Dawn was only there for about an hour before she got off shift, and Christina left after 2 hours. Jen came in and replaced Dawn when she got off, and so for the majority of the night it was just me and Jen. It wasn't so bad though.
I think Jen doesn't think I'm too bad of a worker. She even ran to the store for a while, leaving me minding subway by myself. lol
I should switch up my icons again on here. It's been a while.
I'm being somewhat random aren't I?
Damn, I have a knot in my shoulders. Not fun. Ow.
Last night me and Krissy hung out. She was up here for the weekend (she rarely comes home anymore because she fights with her family too much about Heath now. So she stays in Hancock with him all the time.) Her parents were down her camp in Lac La Belle though, so Krissy came home for the weekend while they weren't there and took care of the dogs.
It was nice, I went over her house after work. I gave her her very belated birthday presents. I had them in time, but I just wasn't able to give them to her. She hasn't been down this way since the 3rd of July. x.X So yeah.
The night before last night me, Carrie, and Jake went out. We went and saw The Edge playing. I talked to Carrie on the phone at like 9:30 pm after I got off of work and we decided that going out sounded like a good idea. We took Carrie's truck, and Jake drove.
The band was good.
I played foosball for the first time. Me and Carrie against Jake for a few games. Me and Carrie aren't very good. Technically, I think I wasn't too bad considering I'd never played the game before in my life. lol I don't remember the score between me and Carrie and Jake atm...
Jake wanted me and Carrie to play against each other, and so we did. I don't know what I should call it, if we played 2 games against each other or 2 sets against each other or what... But we ended up tying, which is perfect IMO. I would feel kind of bad beating my best friend, but I don't particularly like losing either lol. A tie is fine. lol
Then we were going to go play pool but this guy that was watching us said 'I want to play against you two!' So he put up the 50 cents to play, and we played 2 sets against him. I always play the 2 center guys, and Carrie plays the 2 guys closest to the goal. Anyway, at the beginning of the game he was like 'are we allowing spinning?'. Me: Er, I guess? Jake said that obviously we were allowing it, because that's what we'd been doing in all the games previous... lol
We ended up tying with him too. lol
Then we went and played pool. We played 3 games. Jake is a good player. Carrie has been playing since she was 14... but as she said herself she isn't very good. I played pool once when I was in the Sault, and I played a couple games a couple years ago in Krissy's basement on their pool table... lol I don't have a whole lot of experience with that game either. Me and Carrie played against Jake again. Jake said that for being a novice I was really good, and he hadn't seen anyone learn so quick. lol
Jake thanked me for talking Carrie into not getting her running shoes when she first met him. Long story that I'm not getting into, but if I wasn't for me telling Care to not freak out in the beginning there is a very good chance they wouldn't still be together today. I told him that well, he seemed nice. And that he better be good to her, or I'd hunt him down... hehe He said that I'd have to. I don't think he has any intention of hurting her. Which is good. Jake's a good guy, and Carrie and Jake make a cute couple.
Ouch, that damn knot in my shoulders isn't going away.
I need to go walk the dog now. hmm...
