Alright, today I woke up to the phone ringing. Granted it was nearing noon so I should be awake anyway so it didn't bother me... It was Carrie, we talked for about an hour and then we made plans for later in the day. For one Carrie wanted to see her gramma who is in this nursing home type place... basically it's where people who are in the hospital go to die. She didn't want to go alone, so she was hoping I would come with her. I said sure, and we went. First we went and got coffee at Cyberia and drank it in front of the waterfront and talked for quite some time. She now knows something about... uh... something that nobody else knows. She was like 'When were you going to tell me??!?' I was like 'well, I was going to tell you when I got back, but Al was in the truck, and I didn't want to tell you that in front of him... lol.' I don't know exactly why I hadn't told her after that, we've hung out a fair amount since then lol. I think it was just something I was having problems bringing up myself lol. But it ended up working it's way into our conversation, and she said something that made me... um... give away something. Because I have a very honest face that goes along with my honest self... I'm a terrible lier (which is fine, because I don't like to lie... generally I'll tell the truth even when I really really shouldn't. :P) Anyway, we talked about that too. lol I didn't get to ask a certain question of her though. I think I was spending too much time trying not to blush. heh :P
Anyway, vague references aside, after that we went to see her granny. She was breathing really hard and was asleep. Carrie says that she really doesn't seem to know what's going on, but still, you want to see them. So Carrie sat for a while holding her hand, but didn't wake her up. After a while we left again, and thought that maybe we'd go back later. We went to the Backroom (they sell used CDs and books, along with all kinds of cool stuff like blacklight posters, jewelery, bamboo, and all sorts of interesting things...). Carrie bought two CDs and four books. She said I could borrow one of them, then she was like, you could borrow two! Or three! lol I borrowed two, and will read them after I finish the HP books. I saw a game that I really want to buy... But I wanted to check the price on Ebay first, considering it's $15 there. Most likely I won't get a better deal but I want to look anyway. It was the first Turok (I looove that series, have most of them...). I've rented that game many times but then they video store sold it and I haven't seen it since. Anyway, we came out of the Backroom and looked at the time, and was like shit! Carrie had to be to work at 7, and it was already 6:30! So we didn't have time to go back to see her granny. So we drove back home, she dropped me off, went to her house (she's within walking distance... well, it's a fair walk to get to her house but still, for me, it's not much of a walk :P) and then went to work.
I got home and mom wanted to watch a movie. I wasn't really in the mood for a movie, but I decided that it didn't sound like a bad idea. We watched Mulan (I haven't watched any Disney animated movies in a really long time...) and then mom was like 'let's watch another movie!' and I was kinda eh about the prospect... But I had enjoyed watching Mulan, so I was up for it. Mom wanted to watch Hercules, which I was sort of more reluctant to watch. It didn't really bother me when it came out, but as I was watching it, the Disney-fied version of the Hercules story was getting on my nerves. And that Meg woman annoyed me too. Hades was amusing though.
Halfway thru the movie the phone rings. I answer it, figuring it has to be for me because it's 10 pm and most calls later like this are for me. It was Carrie. I come back in the living room and tell mom to keep watching the movie without me. Ok, so they are sitting in the living room watching this movie, and it's bloody blasting because mom is hard of hearing (I have really good hearing... usually when I watch movies with mom I'm listening to it much louder than I'm comfortable with, but what can you do?). I wished I could have gone upstairs, especially considering what Carrie said when I got to talking.
Her gramma died. At 6:45 this evening. She had just got home from work and got the news, and called me right up. I felt so bad for her... It might have been best that we didn't go back when we were planning on, because she might have died when we were there... and I'm sure she wasn't in good shape in the time period before that. I walked in on my dead great gramma (she'd died right before I got there), and that's not something I would wish for Carrie to see. I didn't really know what to say to her, I tried to say things to make her feel better, I asked if there was anything I could do for her but she said she would be alright, she said that she was really glad that I had come with her to see her earlier...
I hate to see those that I care about hurt... So anyway, I was talking to Carrie and I was having such a hard time hearing her because of that bloody annoying movie playing in the background, and there was a bunch of annoying singing... I wrote a note on a piece of paper that said 'Please turn it down a bit' and gave it to mom. She did somewhat, and I think she figured something was up... not long after she had paused the movie. So I talked to Carrie some more. She said she'll most likely call me tomorrow. I hope Carrie and her family are alright...
