Alright, I just finished that book today (I'm moving not as fast as I should like, but still, fast enough. If I had a bunch of time to set aside for reading only, it'd go faster. However I should be done with the 5th book by the time Scottie gets back at least.) I can't wait to see it on the big screen! It seems really spiffy!
Once again, I'm not going to detail the antics I took while reading the book. I can't believe Moody was the person I should have been looking out for! Normally I'm really good at picking out who I should be watching, even if it's supposed to be a surprise character. But in this case I was suspecting everyone at some point... except Moody. Blindly trusting him because he was Dumbledore's friend, and even though he sometimes has skewed logic I'll pretty much trust whoever he does. I should have thought of the whole polyjuice potion thing...
I didn't suspect Moody until he was bringing Harry to the castle, and I was like, 'what??! Moody?! No! I want him to be innocent! *continues reading* Shit!' Yeah, so Moody was innocent technically, because it wasn't really him but still...
The end of the Triwizard Tournament ended the way I wanted it to, with both Harry and Cedric taking the cup, but still, I wasn't expecting Cedric to die. That was sad.
Imagine the guilt that puts into Harry's character too. Still, if Harry had let Cedric take the cup and Harry had not taken it like he had said to... he would have died anyway. But if Harry had just taken it alone... what kind of person would that have made him out to be though? Not so honorable. I kind of wish that Rowling would have made Cedric do something useful before he died in this scene so it didn't seem like it was such a waste of a character... Or something like that...
Thoughts on Ron/Hermione shipping (term I'm supposed to be using?). *waves small flag supporting this* But Hermione (or Herm-own-ninny heh heh) and Krum are actually cute. I had no clue who she was going to end up going to the ball with. Since I waited until the next day to read that chapter, I thought up all sorts of prospects, not least of which was Dobby because of the whole S.P.E.W. thing lol. (not that I was seriously thinking that would happen, but I wouldn't have been entirely shocked lol.)
I think Ron likes Hermione. If only he would have figured this out earlier instead of being a total putz... haha
I was very happy for the return of padfoot. n.n I'm quite fond of Sirius. From just watching the movies, at the end of the 3rd movie, I wasn't sure if Harry would be able to have any contact with him anymore...
In this continued theme, I was curious who they were getting to play Bill Weasely in the movie. He sounds right up my alley in terms of looks. Long red hair... mmm... *koffkoff* I have a thing for that don't I? ^_~
I can't seem to find who's playing him on IMDB though. xP
However, I did see who is playing Mad-Eye Moody. Brendan Gleeson? O.O Frank from 28 Days Later?! (this is who I will always see him as) I'm really not going to want to hate him! o.O But he doesn't fit what my mind told me Moody should look like. lol
I wonder what they are going to do about his magical eye though? I don't want it too look horribly animated... it looks good in my mind's eye but it could potentially look silly onscreen...
I also looked up the person who's playing Krum (ok, so I looked a large number of them... didn't find something for everyone though) and he's so much different than I had imagined. o.O That's about all I can say on the subject.
I wonder if the movie will match anything my imagination has brought about. Hopefully it exceeds my expectations... hehe
And hopefully they don't change the book too much from the movie!
While I was reading the 3rd book I was thinking about how much they changed it... Stuff they left out... One important thing that they left out... I'm quite positive that it wasn't in the movie, but it really should have been IMO. I'm not saying what it is, until I watch the movie again and see if it's there, and I've just forgotten it. (I've only seen the movie twice, once in theaters when it came out, and once at Scottie's... and granted, I watched it in pieces there. I might have missed it, but I don't think I did.)
