Well, I have to do a write up (brief) each week talking about what I did during the week to send to the refuge manager. I haven't been writing what I've been doing in detail, but I -can- give the brief rundown if I just copy them here. lol

Accomplishments for week ending 5/25/2008
Monday
Plover survey of Crescent Surf.
Learned about the Least Tern. Office work.
Plover survey at Goosefare Brook. Found nest but couldn't exclose due
to windy conditions.

Tuesday
Survey at Goosefare Brook and nest exclosure.
Supervised alternative education teens at Libby field planting bare
root stock. Attended their grill.
Continued planting bare root stock after the teens had gone.

Wednesday
Helped put up electric fencing for the Least Terns at Crescent Surf.
Also plover survey.
Continued planting bare root stock at Libby Field.

Thursday
Office work. Took mock presentation walk with Karrie.
Tied flagging on bare root stock for Friday planting.
Helped Liz clean the office.

Friday
Off

Saturday
Office work, visitor contact.

Sunday
Office work, visitor contact.
Rachel Carson "Walk of Wonder".
Walked Parsons Beach and Crescent surf, checked on exclosures.
Watered plants at greenhouse.

Accomplishments for week ending 5/18/2008
Monday
Pulled garlic mustard most of day. Watered plants at Houston House.

Tuesday
Sorted and renamed pictures for Alder plots for Kelly. Worked on fact
sheets. Went to Houston House. Got rid of dead potted plants.
Surveyed for plovers with Shonee.

Wednesday
Surveyed Crescent Surf, Goosefare Brook, and Fairy Beach. Exclosed
nest at Crescent.
Cut down Autumn Olive at Goosefare, more "trail" camoflauge.
Liz and I surveyed Parsons Beach. Found scrapes and activity at
indents in seawall past normal survey area.

Thursday
Surveyed Parsons Beach with Liz. Found nest and exclosed.
Helped Kelly organize NEC literature.
Helped Shonee create a spreadsheet of addresses of all beach
homeowners at Crescent Surf and Parsons Beach.

Came in to help a bit in the morning

Monday
Monday morning meeting.
Talked to Sue about salt marshes, got info for fact sheets. Some office work.
Loosestrife digging and potting

Tuesday
Loosestrife potting.

Wednesday
Took pictures of all alder quadrats at plots 1 and 3.
Starting new alder with shoots at plots 1 and 3.
Looked at prescribed fire with Ward, made contacts.

Thursday
Plover surveys with Shonee.
Helped Shonee, Elizabeth, and Liz with volenteer effort to remove the
trail at Goosefare Brook.

Monday
Monday morning meeting.
Orientation- driving test, tour, etc.

Tuesday
7:45-8:30 Office
8:30-11:00 Assisted Kelly and David in staking out alder plots. We
staked out plots 1 and 3, looked at plots 2 and 4.
2:00-2:20 I did a mock plover exclosure with Shonee and Elizabeth.
2:20-4:30 Fact sheets.

Wednesday
7:45-8:10 Did trail maintainence (fallen tree).
8:10-10:30 Helped to put up a plover exclosure and did plover survey.
10:30-3:00 Helped David find egg masses in vernal pools.
3:00-3:30Visited sites where there might have been purple loosestrife.
Found large population at Beach Plum Farm.
3:30-4:30 Fact sheets/office

Thursday
8:00-10:00 Orientation and office
10:00-2:30 Went with Kelly and Kate to NRS/Wildlife Habitat Incentives
Program Site Visit. Took notes.
2:30-4 Landowner visit.
4:00-4:30 Type up notes.

Friday and Saturday
Off.

7:30-5 Office, trail walking to talk to visitors.
