Ah, fun at the dentist. I never was as a kid, but now I'm a bit dentist shy after having my wisdom teeth extracted.
Even though I was having all four removed, I was awake for it, they just gave me a bit of nitrous oxide... which I noticed absolutely no effect from, and of course the local anesthetic. The doctor ended up causing an opening into my sinus cavity. Yeah... "Oh uh" isn't something you want to hear while in the dentist chair. I needed several more shots of local anesthetic all through the procedure because of the pain. I really wish I had been asleep for it.
I was miserable for about a week afterwards, especially since I couldn't take the vicodin I was prescribed because it made me vomit, but I'm glad I got it all done at once. Everything healed up fine.
And I had never heard of ankyloglossia before either! Thanks for helping me learn something new!
Also... I love your absolutely perfect icon for this post!
