So I'm applying for an internship at a sealife center near where I currently live, though I wouldn't be living there at the time of the internship as our lease is up before that. So, I guess what I mean is I'll be living there but not at our apartment.
Anyway, I have all my materials sent in and such. However, the interview weeks are in about a week. I emailed the woman and let her know about my schedule, or more appropriately, my complete lack of one. And my complete lack of communication. Her response was basically that I would need to be able to work it out for them to be able to schedule an interview. Really. I don't know how else I might have put it, but I have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL over where I am, for how long I will be there, or for how long I will be at sea. And because of the boat I'm on, I also have to monitor offloads (I have to watch all the fish come off the boat. I get a 2 hour break every 12 hours, and offloads can take over 24 hours!) so that means even if I'm in port there is nothing saying that I will actually have any time to DO anything. And I'm really going to be able to interview well after schelping around heavy fish outside in the cold for possibly 24 hours? I'll stay awake to talk to my honey, or at least try my best to, but really, an interview?
"Hi, what's your name" "Bleeeeeh..." "Are you interested in fish?" "...gordramfishI'mgoingtopuntthemalltothemoon... Oh lookit that, I'm on the phone, hello? Did I call my cutie? Ah crap, no. ...I hate fish." "..." "..." "I tried to tell you this was a bad idea!" "Well... continuing one with the interview... hello?" "zzz"
